#1 Post by Dromeno »

Almost chrismas... I have a wish

Last October it became super easy to install Ubuntu on a Nexus7 tablet, Canonical published a nexus7 installer for Ubuntu 12.10, for instructions see here.

...now you all can guess my wish. I want a puppy linux nexus7. Is that possible?

I told Barry Kauler about this development

I called it Nexen7 rather that Nexus7. I mixed it up with a Canadian
oil company that is in the news.

A touch enabled Puppy on any of the Tablet devices would be really nice.

Would imagine that a Puppy done the BK way - would absolutely fly.

However, I suspect an enormous amount of work is needed.

Could woof just grab what it needs and build a touchscreen puppy from the *buntu repo’s ?

Let’s hope Barry does what he does best soon.

How might we persuade someone at Acer, Asus, Samsung or similar - to provide BK with a development machine.
They surely must have a something in a brown box, lurking locally that they could spare.

Even if you got the touchpad working, none of the apps and services would work.

Hi All!

What i don't get - does Puppy generally not work for Tablet-computers or is it just the lacking Touchscreen functionality?

I'd like to attach a USB-Keyboard anyway, so what do you think?

Thanks!
