How to access my BT 3A router through its USB port?

#1 Post by tony »

Hi,

I've recently started using BT home hub 3A router which has a USB port.

It seems easy to access it under windows but very difficult under linux.

Using /root/network/scan shows a fat32 usb stick as BTHUB3--USB4 but with no contents.

Can anyone show how to find the port, mount it and access it with rox.

I am using the latest slacko 4.

Regards Tony.

Is this post helpful?

He's using a different Puppy that has the Pnethood client program.

Hi rcrsn51,

thanks for coming back,

I read the post and had another try at accessing the USB port on the router but still no luck.

I will try reading up on networking and have another try in a couple of weeks.

Regards Tony

It may be as simple as pressing the ROX Rescan button (the recycling symbol) to make the contents of the share visible.

Hi,

thanks to a personal message from rcrsn51 I had another try.

I was finally able to access the Usb stick on the BT home hub 3 using pnethood.

In a terminal type :- pnethood 192.168.1.254 the Bthub home page. Click mount then show.

Regards Tony.

Hi rcrsn51,

using YASSM login.

Clear username and password fields.

Replace BTHUB3 in server field with 192.168.1.254

click mount.

Up comes the contents of the USB stick in the back of the homehub3.

Regards Tony.
