The subject says it all. Not for the faint hearted though, there is a lot to go through, but it's all gpl.

grass 6.4.1 is in the precise repo and seems to work.

it's also in the lucid and slacko repos although i haven't seen if it fires up on them

What is that application for?
A short description of it and it's use would enlighten me as to if it would be of use to me.
And in that case, I would try it.

Grass is a Geographic Information System (GIS) program. It is for making and using computerized maps.

Think google earth on steroids with a database backend (but you provide your own maps and data).

Do you mind if I ask: in this age of woof based puppies why would you still make requests for PETS of things like GRASS?
