Nice flyer. One comment:
Puppy Linux:Unleashed your computer!
is gramatically incorrect

"Puppy Linux:Unleash your computer!"
would be better

afgs,

It may be the PDF viewer I use, but in printing out the landscape version the 'paw prints' end up on a white background and the printing in front of them is hard to read. It shows good in the readers on screen.

Any ideas?

Thank you for your advices.
I've made some refinements on the flyers, including version 2 (of each) which uses less ink to print.

Sorry, the connection broke when I was uploading the Puppy landscape flyers.
Here they are. Hope they print well.

vs. 2 has better font for visual scanning.

perhaps the column on the lower left would be easier to track either right or left aligned, i've read that centering should be reserved for titles and headings. or perhaps it's fine.

the thumbs in the upper left are maybe a bit pixallated.

a nice sharp 90 deg angle in the upper left might help square it all off.

the dog is in a position that sort of has it's crotch projected at the viewer. some people might get turned off by that. some people see pics, some words.

speaking of words, what does "and no auditors" mean? that's the only part that didn't make sense to me.

Besides the computer shows in the area about every 10 weeks, San Antonio College puts on an 'Open Source Fest" each October. I am working on a Over View of Puppy to present.

So far the reception of Puppy at the computer shows has been very positive.

If any one is in the San Antonio, TX area May 10, the next computer show will be at the Live Oak civic Center. The San Antonio Linux Users Group will be showing off graphics packages. I will be running several under Puppy. Right now I plan to use 3.01, but if 4.0 is operational on my computers I will try that.

Xmas show

#35 Post by NathanO »

Been a while. The next Computer Show is Dec 10, 2011, Live Oak Civic Center near San Antonio, TX. We are still showing off Puppy as well as the other Linux distributions and get a number of return visitors. The Xmas show is where we try and show off Linux aimed at the younger set.

Our Dec 14, 2011 meeting is our Xmas party. See satlug.org for how to get to our meetings at Rackspace.

The exotic computer group, xcssa.org , normally joins us for this, come meet all the 'Geeks'.

The next Computer Show is December 8, 2012.

This may be the last Computer Show in the San Antonio area as the City of Live Oak has sold the building to a company that is going to put small retail shops in.

The company that puts on the shows also put on shows in the Oklahoma area and they get a lot more traffic at those shows. They are not looking for an alternative location for San Antonio.
