Has dual sound card - HDMI & ATI SB. Sound / Mic not working in Lucid / Slacko.

Use (menu) Setup / Multiple sound card wizard to select SB.

From a terminal, run amixer -c 1 . 'Capture,0' entries will likely be 'off'. If so, run amixer -c 1 controls & note numid of 'Capture Switch' (i.e. 7).
Then run amixer -c 1 numid=7 on,on

Next run alsamixer & set volumes (mics should be about 22). Then run alsactl store -f /etc/asound.state

Did you get the sound working, it wasn't clear the post?

If not is the soundcard you want to use active? In Retrovol or alsamixer you get select the card.

sometimes soundcard ordee is random, see
