Xircom pcmcia driver failed.

#1 Post by zeiz »

My IBM ThinkPad 560E (P166, 80Gb ram, 2Gb hdd) has no network interface but it has pcmcia slot type2 16bit.
I got Xircom RealPort Ethernet 10/100 (RE100) pcmcia adapter (no modem) and found a driver for it which runs @100 in win98 and win2k.
Playing with Puppy 2.14 (Top10) I was pleased to find a driver that supposed to serve exactly Xircom pcmcia adapter but the driver... failed
The 2 other Xircom drivers (pci) available failed as well.
Does somebody know is it possible to somehow configure/substitute the driver or it's fatal?

EDITED. My apologies: I reinstalled Puppy from another iso and this time the driver worked!

I notice however another weird issue: I can print normally only from cli. In GUI my keyboard types garbage in both console and text editor. I have to open another thread :o

I would guess that is language settings in the GUI
