Change GTK and Openbox Theme by Script? (solved)

#1 Post by RSH »

Hi.

How to change GTK and Openbox Themes by Script?

Is that possible?

Need this for a nice tool ---> 8) Design Switcher 8) <---

Image

Makes me able to switch Desktop Design from just one GUI.

Switches:
- Wallpaper ---> by settings file :D
- System Icon Set ---> by settings file :D
- Tint2 Design ---> by settings file :D
- System Sounds ---> by settings file :D 8)

- GTK Theme ---> manually :cry:
- Openbox Theme ---> manually :cry:

It can have different files of Design Settings.

This is the LazY Puppy PhaseBlue System Design:

and then just switched to LazY Puppy PhaseBlack System Design
Image

(sorry, both images do show one "at-unperfect-stage-programming-result-bug-icon" at the right side)

Just need to switch GTK and Openbox Themes by Script... :cry:

...would be very 8)

Thanks in advance for any help and hints

Hi RSH,
Yes you can change Openbox theme by script - if you have a look in this script it has the information you need for listing / switching Openbox themes. 8)

for changing GTK themes i think you will need the application gtk-theme-switch2 - use it as command: gtk-theme-switch2 /path/to/gtk/theme

cheers.

Hi stu91.

Thanks for the Link to your script. :)

Any Idea where to find the gtk-theme-switch2 application ---> forum search gives results=0. :cry:

Hi.

Found the gtk-theme-switch2 at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/maverick/i386/gtk-theme-switch/2.1.0-2!

Downloaded the gtk-theme-switch_2.1.0-2_i386.deb, Installed and works. :D

So, the Design Switcher will work as intended. :D 8)

EDIT:

Everything seems to work fine. Solved.
