I haven't found a .pet, but I know there's an .sfs here:
http://smokey01.com/saluki/sfs/kompozer-0.8b3.sfs
It's from Saluki, but it may work in other Puppies.

Thanks for the suggestion but I believe an sfs from Saluki would smash Slacko. I think they are built from completely different distros.vicmz wrote:I haven't found a .pet, but I know there's an .sfs here:

I would love to be mistaken.
I just tried it. It didn't break the machine but it doesn't run.muggins wrote:Why not just download to /mnt/home, right-click & select sfs_load, to mount the app? Seems to work fine on this slacko machine.
The DL and sfs_load steps went fine. Kompozer even has a start menu entry. But then launched, it does nothing.
Yes...very strange. When I said it worked on slacko, I was actually running Jejy69's slacko based slacko_lxpup-06.09.12.iso.
But when I rebooted into standard slacko, kompozer has problems with not finding mozilla libraries?
Anyway, rather than bothering with finding out why, I installed Kompozer-0.8b3-Lucid.petinstead...and it seems to work OK.

change the extension to .tar, extract it, then use dir2sfs to make an sfs file....woirks fine in Slacko 5.3.3muggins wrote: I installed Kompozer-0.8b3-Lucid.petinstead...and it seems to work OK.
I'm sure there is a more elegant to do it...but this does work.

Hot doggie! That worked fine. Thank you!tlchost wrote:change the extension to .tar, extract it, then use dir2sfs to make an sfs file....woirks fine in Slacko 5.3.3muggins wrote: I installed Kompozer-0.8b3-Lucid.petinstead...and it seems to work OK.

Thank you again.
I am curious about one thing. If somehow I manage to create a broken sfs, I assume it might cause Puppy to boot improperly and crash, or somehow be unable to boot properly.
If that happens, I believe that i can recover by booting without loading the "save file", then go in an manually delete the offending sfs, then reboot normally and clean up any left over junk. Does that sound right to you? (Kind of analogous to booting Winblows in safe mode.)

I really don't know..,..I use bootable usb drive...and always have a backup copy of the last good sfs file....so if I bork something up, I just copy the backup to where I have the borked sfs file and go on with life.captnemo wrote:Thank you again.

It is NOT an approved geekie solution...but it works.
