backi , its based on the precise beta 2 that barry built I know that scaling didn't work on everyone stuff But it worked for me and all the gear my testers used.
This is a development version of macpup I don't except it to do everything for everyone.

I am using TP-Link TL-WN722N 150Mbps High Gain Wireless USB Adapter with TP-Link TL-ANT2408CL 2.4GHz 8dbi Indoor Omni-Directional Antenna. I also tried Edimax EW-7711UAN 150Mbps Wireless 802.11n High Gain 3dBi USB Adapter. They detected my BT Home Hub & I entered the wireless key - just an error message on screen.
Then I unrolled my 10 metre ethernet cable & finally online. |
You can go here http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=80175&start=105 and look at rerwin post and see if any the pets he has will work for you.

MacPup 529 - had me running back to 5.28 |
|
Hi All
Well using 529 left me with no audio and no wireless internet on Dell Vostro 220, Lenovo A50, Acer 5552 & Toshiba A120.
I loaded up Macpup 528 and all computers are awesome, 529 the audio playback is a struggle and I cannot record audio at all, I cannot get the wireless to work on any of my computers, 528 is working fine, BTW im using 528 not the v2 version the original.
Hope this helps as I was hoping to do a video of 529.

kros54 , Try something for me, Download Barry's build of precise beta 2 and try localizing it. If it stays that way consistently. Go back to MP529 switch to the jwm side and see if it works there. Then report back before you try the e17 side again.

Haven't made my mind up yet on what is going onto /dev/sdb3 yet. Maybe nothing even. Just use for storage maybe. Not a priority yet any hows.
Besides. I gotta read up on what works on precise puppys and stuff. I need libsensors, locate, and info ,(maybe bash 4.1 also)
Code: | sh-3.00# locate firefox
sh: locate: command not found
sh-3.00# info firefox
sh: info: command not found

to make me more of a happy camper before I download devx later and install. Just glad this booted up on these old drives and this battered Desktop.

troubleshooting hungarian localization |
|
1. Download Precise puppy beta2 http://distro.ibiblio.org/quirky/test/precise-5.2.60/
2. Install Precise puplet (frugal)
Run Quickset, Country setting- > hu-HU, Timezone Europe-Budapest, keyboard layout hu-Hungary. set OK, save, and terminal:
(1precise_locale_after_locale)
3. New process: Macpup529.
reinstall Precise, install Macpup529
switch jwm, run first intall process. All OK.
(2macpup529 locale jwm.jpg)
Save, and exit prompt, command locale- all OK (as well as terminal)
restart e17. Run Roxterm, command locale, good results, the test sentence is wrong. (3after rebootE17.jpg)
I try very, very much. Run Wizard Wizard - Change the mouse and keyboard - Advenced Xorg keyboard configuration layouts - Configure Xkb Layout, Change... and so an...
First, immediately after the settings are good:
(4aftersettingE17.jpg)
If X restart, the localization settings are lost.
I think, that may be the fault (bug) of the e17 startup configuration.
It would be worthwhile to look at what has changed in the macpup528 because it worked well

I have two things for you to try ,First set it all up But don't restart, shut it down and save. Then boot it up later and see . If that fails we will try setting up e from scratch.
