Request: SCSI kernel modules for fatdog64 600 (Solved) |
|
Hello,
I upgraded my main machines to fatdog600 over the last few days. And now I need the kernel modules for scsi, especially scsi_transport_spi.ko and sg.ko. I downloaded the devx with sources, and compiled the modules myself, but when I modprobe them I get 'invalid argument'. Can someone knowlegeable and helpful either point me to my mistake in compiling, or compile the modules and load them up in here.
Kernel is 3.4.5, 64 bit. make finished without an error, so did make install.
Thanks for your time/help!

Soooo, had some more leisure today, and found out, the scsi_transport_spi is already compiled into the kernel, so no need to compile it at all. Thus the incompatibility issue, I suppose. I only wonder, why the original aic7xxx kept complaining about missing dependency 'scsi_transport_spi'??!!
As to the 'sg' module, the error message just stopped showing. Probably got it messed up between 600 and 601
Confusion added by the pci hostadapter who had left it's socket, so after
I had the softwareside all sorted, the scanner still wouldn't work.
For everybody encountering the same sort of problem:
You only need to modprobe your hostadapters module and sg.
