Couldn't type some of capital letters in Wary

#1 Post by snayak »

Dear All,

i am using Wary puppy 5.3.

I am unable to type some of the capital letters from my keyboard.
Keys of my keyboard works, because I am able to type that letter in small case.
This problem is always there in all types of applications, eg, geany, browser, inside guest oS etc.

What could have gone wrong?
Anybody ever face such situations?

[See that, in this post also, I was unable to type some capital letters, i, u, o etc.]

I am using xvesa.
Keyboard type: us.

Same problem was there in Wary5.

Please help.

Sincerely,
Srinivas Nayak

Do you have a different keyboard you could try?

I have no other spare...
But do you ever see this behavior?

One thing, I noticed is, I changed my X to use xorg (not xvesa). Capital letter typing problem is still there.

I've never seen that behavior. Sometimes shift and caps lock keys get stuck or go intermittent. I'd had that - solved by hammering shift keys til they became unstuck. It would have probably been better just to clean the key board - often keys can be pulled off and snapped back on.

Is it always the same letters that won't go in capital? 8)

yes...mostly.

When I keep on pressing shift key and that letter, some times capital letter comes and some times small letter comes...

definitely sounds like a keyboard problem.

try cleaning it, I assume its a desktop machine?

would be useful if you could either

A try another keyboad.

B try same keyboard on another machine
