Chromium from the slacko repository won't run on check-mate due to missing libs.

The missing libs are part of seamonkey and have been removed as seamonkey has been removed.

I made a pet of the seamonkey libs only and if this is loaded then chromium does work.

You can also load seamonkey complete which also works.

The full set of libs is probably overkill but it seemed easier to include them all rather than work out what was needed.

Cheers
peebee

p.s. Frisbee and wifi now working fine in v5 - thanks - also tested pnethood for samba shares and that is also working as expected.

So far everything is working, can confirm that Chromium won't work.

I even did a quick remaster and everything is doing just fine.

wbar runs great on checkmate as well.

Hello guys !

Thanks for reports !
@ Gnuxo ; Hoo-Ha ! Finally...

@ peebee : Thanks, libs will be intregrated in the next and last version. :D

@ oldyeller : Chromium will works, in the next ISO

Okay, I think the last ISO will be upload, The next steps will be, updates of LXDE, and rebasing Slacko when 5.3.4 comes out.
That, I think we got there, the final version.

For the last ISO, updates'll be :
-Frisbee, default wizard
-browser libs
-updated "GetFlash" to fix the error "No connection".

Thanks all ! :D

Jejy69 keep at it. You got a very nice derivative going, probably the best Puppy I've used so far.

Am definitely waiting for the final!

Hello Jejy69,

The next slacko will not be out for months because the main person behind Slackware is doing you could say a overhaul of it.

so the nest one will be a Alpha look at the thread for 5.3.4

I re-downloaded and burned this time it did boot, but went into a blue screen with tabs for the Internet, work, learn, listen and preferences and could not get out of it.

Sorry

Just a quick test live pfix=ram and v5 appears to be working fine here. The md5 here is 9d824e0c168459cddb7b5096673c3964.

Oops ! ! ! In the final ISO, I inadvertently installed Lxlauncher .. I'm sorry...
I will remove this stupid thing...
You can remove Lxlauncher in /etc/xdg/autostart and it will not launch at all.

Sorry for the inconvenience

Oh, I see, I couldn't find it in v5 but there is a new iso. Great. But actually, maybe a launcher would be a good idea, since there are no icons on the desktop as in usual Puppy--I like the clean look but maybe I could use an alternative to the Menu.

OK, maybe lxlauncher is not the one ;-) But maybe PupApps?

To get the Panel prefs, right-click on the panel to get a transparent panel.

Gnome-mplayer. There is a problem with gnome-mplayer 1.0.5 with View -> Half Larger, that I think is fixed by gnome-mplayer 1.0.6 from the Slacko repo (and fixed in Slacko 5.3.3.2)

I was going to try Yeahlauncher on LXDE. True it's very lightweight and arguably one of the lightest launchers around but I like to keep things small.

Another launcher to try is Badbar2 which was made for BadWM but I want to try it on LXDE as well.

Thank you playdayz for suggesting PupApps, which is designed to launch favorite applications.

You could also consider PupMenu which is a comprehensive application finder, launcher and editor. Version 2.7 was released today. :)

Hi ! :D

I finished!
I removed Lxlauncher ( "OK, maybe lxlauncher is not the one", no, it's not  ), added PupMenu & PupApps !
PupApps is already on the desktop.
MPlayer fixed, yeah I can play videos in full screen now, thanks ! :D
Seamonkey libs added, & GetFlash updated.
Fixed invalid hostname, "puppypc", instead of "Checkmate" to avoid network errors.

Thanks all, have nice day !

Nice one! Just a note, a Firefox menu entry wouldn't appear until I restarted X. Maybe this is due to PupMenu, but I can live with that.

One thing I would like to fix is the right click context menu still has some typo's ( Texte editor). It's no big deal but if someone could tell me what file to edit that would be great!

Again, nice job on this. Thanks for all the hard work!!!
