News- April 10,2012 - It is now compatible with Saluki!!
News- July 23,2012 - It is now compatible with Porteus(XFCE)!!
News- Aug 14 World Clock added

The following application is similar to Zigbert's pclock.
SEE HERE

Puppy clock is a powerful alarm and timer and app launcher!!
It combines a GUI with pschedule (a CRON program).

Pclock was written originally by Zigbert, but then I made some
improvements and localized it so that
foreign languages can use it.

There are several small improvements in Puppy Clock so that
foreign localization works better in this version rather than
pclock.

But if you're happy with pclock currently then
there is no need to change. Laughing

There is already French and German translations.

My question is that I do not see anywhere that I can change to a 12 hour clock as opposed to a 24 hour clock ? Does the new version do that?

I refer to the time display in the tray ,not the alarm etc

Hi tytower,

I believe that what you need is the PupClockset-1.6.3 pet from radky.

See under forum Utilities section.

My regards

PS All radky's pets are A1 and well worth a look.

The two buttons (12 and 24 hour ) are used by
Zigbert to reset the timer and countdown, I believe.

I suggested to Zigbert that he combine the two buttons
into one but that was a dumb idea Embarassed

...but I'll look at the problem again.

there is a line close to the bottom of the file /root/.jvmrc-tray:
Code:
<Clock format="%H:%M">minixcal</Clock>
To show AM/PM, you should you change this to:
Code:
<Clock>minixcal</Clock>

I noticed something odd in testing Puppy Clock.

It has a feature that few seem to know about ,
namely it will launch an application after a countdown.

However it then launches the same app over and over.

This may be undesirable, but you can stop this action by going
to the opening page and clicking on the 12/24 button.

Just quitting Puppy Clock ( or pclock)
doesn't stop the launching action.

PostPosted: Sat 24 Dec 2011, 12:18    Post subject: font size

I noticed that some recent Puppies didn't show the clock
numerals properly. The font size was too big.

I changed the formula that Zigbert derived
to make the font size slightly smaller.
That appears to have solved the problem,
so it should work on most Puppies.

new version of puppy clock 0.3.8

I made three improvements

1) It is now compatible to Saluki however the clock in
window is too small Crying or Very sad

2) I put a space after the word 'Note:' to make it nicer

3) The app uses default audio player if pmusic doesn't exist

Note : I have found a bug that might occur with some versions of pmusic

Some versions of pmusic will play the music file in a loop
in the background. If this occurs the best way to shut it
off is to type in terminal
Code:

pmusic -s stop

In the Enlightenment window manager that pemasu's Exprimo uses
it is especially hard to stop puppy clock or pclock.

Note:

Use the most recent version of pmusic to avoid the looping problem.

Version 0.4.0

1) redesigned interface to be more attractive
and fit in 480 pixel height

2) font size is calculated differently -->
only dpup will change the size to be a smaller fontsize

3) gtkdialog version is selected in different fashion

4) some changes of wording but new locales are not needed!!

Stopwatch function is missing a stop icon. To time an event, you normally need a start and stop function. That's also a problem with pclock.

I noticed that yesterday while rewriting some code

The countdown acts in a funny way but it works.

To test Countdown --> put 'xmessage Hello'
into field
you can turn off the countdown by quitting puppy clock
or by clicking on alarm tab and then clicking on
12 hour clock button (or 24 hour)

There is a bug in Stopwatch. It seems that
if Countdown is in use and then use the Stopwatch
the Countdown works well but the Stopwatch acts strangely
with negative numbers.
