Links change from blue to purple after they're clicked.
So history is being stored somewhere...but where?
(Deleting history from SeaMonkey 1.1.11 doesn't make a difference.)

My WAG is that the history is kept in SeaMonkey's cache. If you tell SeaMonkey to put the cache in /tmp, the cache is not saved when Puppy shuts down. You can tell SeaMonkey where to put its cache by going to Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Cache, clicking Choose folder and then navigating to /tmp (if that's where you want the cache to be kept.)

If I'm wrong about where SeaMonkey keeps its history, you can in desperation run Puppy from a multisession DVD and simply not save when you shut down. That's what I do.

How about the "Clear History" tab under History in the Edit Preferences menu? Works on my Seamonkey. Deleting Cache does not delete history, nor does eliminating history.mab.

I think that Flash get's this right. We do have a thread
where somebody did found out this fact about Seamonkey too
and tried to find a way to delete that info.

What about Firefox does that one behave like SeaMonkey do?
And IceWeasel and IceApe and other such varieties? Do they too?

How can one find out.

I also tried this with 4.3.1 and PuppyBrowser; same result.

Although the help / Puppy browsers are somehow linked to SeaMonkey, clearing cache / cookies / history from SeaMonkey won't clear history from help / Puppy browsers.

Oops, I completely misunderstood your initial question.

In theory, you could make a backup copy of your Save file, then compare it to your Save file after you do some browsing, to see what changed.

If you have a full install, finding where the history is being stored might be easier if you boot from CD with the pfix=ram boot option, then create a Save file when you shut down, just for the experiment. I've never done this though, so I can't guarantee it won't bork your full install.

OK, finally found them!

In Puppy Linux 4.1.2, which has SeaMonkey 1.1.11:
/ root (show hidden files) / .TestGtkEmbed / TestGtkEmbed / history.dat

In Puppy Linux 4.3.1, which has SeaMonkey 1.1.18:
/ root (show hidden files) / PuppyBrowser / mozilla / history.dat

In Wary 5.1.1, which has SeaMonkey 2.0.11:
Using browser: Tools / Delete Private Data

In Wary 5.1.4.1, which has SeaMonkey 1.1.18:
Easy way, using browser: Edit / Preferences / History / Clear History
Traditional way: / root (show hidden files) / mozilla / default / r3y1skkw.slt / history.dat

And just for grins ...

Abiword history file:
/ root (show hidden files) / .AbiSuite / AbiWord.Profile

Softmaker Office 2008 history file:
PlanMaker: / root (show hidden files) / .softmaker / pm08config.ini
TextMaker: / root (show hidden files) / .softmaker / tm08config.ini

In all cases, delete these to remove history.
They're automatically replaced.

The history.dat file seems to have been abandoned in going to Seamonkey 2.0. At least it is not present in my 2.6.1 version. Instead, the history data appear to be contained in the places.sqlite files.

In any case, it seems simply clicking on "Clear history" under the Preferences tab does the job without messing with the guts of Seamonkey.
