Here's the latest Window's computer design by Asustek Computer (Asus)
shown at Computex trade show in Taipei. It can be a laptop or
a desktop computer.
It uses ARM apparently Tegra 3http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tegra
Additionally Asus unveiled three new Transformer tablets, the Book, the 810 and the 600. The Book is pretty much Asus' Zenbook with a removable display - it will be available in 11.6, 13 and 14in variants. The 810 is an Atom powered 11.6in device with a built in Wacom digitiser for accurate stylus input - it sports 64GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM and an unspecified Intel Atom processor. Finally the 600 is a Tegra 3 powered machine with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, running Windows RT

The new name is Microsoft Windows RT to avoid any use of
the word 'ARM'. Rather confusing

I suspect that this is also based on the A10... they don't mention the SoC, but the features seem the same.

Re: Buy MK802
How much money should I send then? USD or Australian Dollars or what?raffy wrote:In case you want to buy the MK802, here is the URL.
If you want to donate one for Barry (or me ), that would be much appreciated.
That thing can not be ordered yet and has only 64MB ram that is too small.
"This item can not be ordered yet."
What about the Norwegian Candy Bar USB ARM computer.
Not ready yet but much better specs? http://www.fxitech.com/products/
I use Google Search on Puppy Forum
not an ideal solution though

OOpps.
Wrong link. Here's the tour of the small workshop that's making the
mk802. It's nothing fancy.

A new kernel was developed for the mk802
Several developers on the miniand.com forum have built a kernel that solves most of the problems porting linux to the A10. The have a good version running Lubuntu. I know Barry did some work with Woof to produce a puppy build, but the kernel he was using was problematic. Now that there is a better kernel, can someone help me attach the Puppy packages to it? I have played around with Woof, but am not experienced enough to produce the .img. thanks

A9
Yes, Cortex-A9 is multi-core, which is what the specification says.nooby wrote:Doesn't the Norwegian dongle have better specs?

However, Allwinner's Cortex-A8 already works fine playing videos (the Mele is a good example).
The MK802 will be a good tool for teachers using TV or multimedia projectors in the classroom.
The great thing about the Allwinner A10 chip is it's price
and the A13 is even less.

Code: Select all
A10 is around $7 for 5 numbers purchase and around $12-14 for smaller quantities.
I have got one from this

it maybe a little expensive, but it never has something wrong
