Opera libraries missing |
|
I have installed both lup_528 and lupu_528.005 and then installed Opera 11.50. It does not work quite right in either lupu, but the installer says the following libraries are missing:
| Quote: | File /usr/lib/opera/liboperakde4.so has these missing library files:
libkdecore.so.5 libkdeui.so.5 libkio.so.5
File /usr/lib/opera/gstreamer/plugins/libgstoperavp8.so has these missing library files:
libgstvideo-0.10.so.0 libgstbase-0.10.so.0 libgstreamer-0.10.so.0
File /usr/lib/opera/gstreamer/plugins/libgstoperamatroska.so has these missing library files:
libgstvideo-0.10.so.0 libgstbase-0.10.so.0 libgstreamer-0.10.so.0 |
Does anyone have a package containing them all?
Thanks,
BS

You shouldn't have had any trouble. Install the Ubuntu deb right on top..
And what happened here.. no comment?

Hello, ravensrest.
I am currently using opera 11.52. This is what I have under
/usr/lib/opera
---------------------------
.:
gstreamer/
plugins/
liboperagtk.so
liboperakde4.so
opera
operaplugincleaner
operapluginwrapper
./gstreamer:
plugins/
./gstreamer/plugins:
libgstoperamatroska.so
libgstoperavp8.so
./plugins:
README
----------------------
As you can see, the kde library is right there besides the opera executable.
Opera is a great Internet navigator, but it is fussy as to how you launch it. You have to launch it from its own folder. I've had problems too launching opera, but they were all related to that single problem. So, please try this:
In ROX, go in the usr/lib/opera folder, then enter a console in that directory, then issue the command < opera > (without the arrows, of course).
Tell us how that goes. If it fails, please tell us more about your Puppy version, your PC, and where you got your opera archive from. Only then will we be able to help you adequately.
Best regards.

Thanks for your replies. I no longer have a problem. Instead of installing pets as I did before originally posting this topic, I found opera-12.00-1387.i386.opt.sfs. I have now run this under lupu_528, racy53, and wary53 and it seems to work fine in each of them.
I agree that it is a great browser, and prefer it to Seamonkey.
