"No space left on device" message can't be right

I installed puppy wary 5.0 to 16gb usb.
then I download some file(1.0gb size) by transmission.
but suddenly transmission stop working and i received message
"No space left on device" .. I don't understand that massage..
my usb free space is over 10gb..!!
help me please.. sorry my fool english

That 10 GB of free space is probably outside of the Puppy files. Rather than downloading it in your /root/download folder create a download folder in your /mnt folder and then point Transmission to it. There should be plenty of space for a 1 GB file there. Or you could use your file manager to navigate to your computer's hard drive (assuming you have one) and save the file there.

Please approach this information with caution. I am a newbie myself and just learning. But I do save all of my large files outside of Puppy and it seems to work well.

This is most appropriate for large video files and music files etc. If it's a file that you downloaded in order to install some software in Puppy then it might need to be used within Puppy's own file system. I'm not sure about that.

FIRST BEFORE COPYING THE RAM CONTENT TO THE SAVE-FILE.

The RAM gets divided by 2 i think .

You can DL a file of 400-500 MB with 1GB RAM and 800-1000MB with 2GB RAM .

Swap might help , too .

During swapfile (1GB) making, I was received same massage "no space left on devise"

You can if you set your browser properly.
(seamonkey example) Edit >> Preferences...
Browser >> Downloads >> When saving a file, choose 'Save files to' '/mnt/home/tmp'.
