How to use Purebasic in Puppy? |
|
Hello,
My name is Richard - I am from Belgium and new to Linux.I am trying to install Purebasic under puppyLinux. I use this a lot under windows.
I got this to install (from ubuntu?):
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
sudo apt-get install build-essential libgtk2.0-dev libgnome2-dev libgnomeprintui2.2-dev libxine-dev libsdl1.2-dev libiodbc2-dev libxxf86vm-dev libwebkitgtk-dev
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As I understand Puppy doesn't use or recognize sudo?
What must be changed in above code to use under puppy?
Thanks
Richard

Hello, Richard.
I am not a PureBasic user. However, this is what I would do:
download in the same folder as your Puppy the corresponding devx sfs archive for this Puppy
load it like this: (menu->System->Bootmanager; then follow the instructions)
Then check if Puppy has the libraries you indicate above by using pfind. We already have libgtk2, for example, but perhaps not the dev addition.
Also modern Puppy's can generally install any *.deb, *.rpm or *.tgz file directly by clicking on it. So, if your PureBasic is in one of these formats, it is very simple. No need for the sudo command, etc.
I hope this helps.
Best regards.
P.S. It would help to know which version of Puppy you are using, and on which kind of computer.
