Geany is a small and lightweight Integrated Development Environment. It was developed to provide a small and fast IDE, which has only a few dependencies from other packages. Another goal was to be as independent as possible from a special Desktop Environment like KDE or GNOME - Geany only requires the GTK2 runtime libraries.
Some basic features of Geany:
Syntax highlighting
Code folding
Symbol name auto-completion
Construct completion/snippets
Auto-closing of XML and HTML tags
Call tips
Many supported filetypes including C, Java, PHP, HTML, Python, Perl, Pascal
Symbol lists
Code navigation
Build system to compile and execute your code
Simple project management
Plugin interface

By the way, I have a problem when i compile latex file with geany. When I press f9, i got this message:
how to fix that?
thanks.

I already solve this problem. I go to this link:

G'day,
Link to plugins for Geany 1.23 is dead - I got this download from a Japanese site. Not being fluent in Japanese I stumbled around til I got a download - so I uploaded it to my mediafire account for anyone who needs this plugin.... I dislike seeing open source apps disappearing from cyberspace - and to lose the effort that people put into making up the package in the 1st place...

Cheers
Martin

but the other link didn't. I'm going to try to install this and then if not included build the pet for the spellcheck plugin. There is a newer version of geany out BTW.
