open box fails on a vertual machine

#2161 Post by shinobar »

Sorry, mistook the topic.

Maybe my special case:
Boot up the luci-231.iso on the vertual machine, qwmu-0.12.5, having a emulation of cirrus logic graphic tip.
It boots up directry to the graphical desktop, but fall down to the console soon.
The xerrs.log shows 'open box cannot manage this resolution.'.
I got the desktop by typing 'xwin jwm' and seems no problem.

On the desktop. Right click on the "Connect" icon and click on the AutoConnect menu item.

Hi Tronkel!

Just wanted to say, "Thanks very much!" my fine fellow Puppian friend before this thread got too far from your posting ( and sorry for having taken this long as it's been one hellacious week! ), and that's for posting your .pet of the Ubuntu font family.

What a superbly fine font! ( As you can see I don't get out and around much, eh? lol! ) I've made it the "Defacto Default" in all my Puppies as it's that nice, crisp, and clear for these shabby failing ol' eyes of mine to read.

Just wanted to show my appreciation Tronkel, so thanks once again!

Cheers/Amicalement,

Eyes-Only

@ 01micko

I was testing the xfce.pet. everything works fine. but one thing am I missing. there is no possibility to get the drives on the desktop. The drive_all stuff doesn't work here and xfce can't handle puppy mount settings. Is there any possibility to fix it. I know that gray managed it somehow in Quirky NOP.......:)

I think not:

Is it possible to re-compile the current <insert version number here> Lucid kernel?

I want to apply the RT tweaks if possible.

resolved Adobe flash player

#2169 Post by Pelo »

Adobe flash player. The pet loaded does not change anything.
Lucid 5.1.1 is very fine, quick, pretty. I am exploring deeper.
Using You tube and after loading flash player pet, I am asked to install last version of Adobe. I did it, but nothing happened. On the other hand, some videos works well.
What is your diagnostic. Merci beaucoup. Bonne journée.

Post-scriptum : sorry I tried again, but i extracted the files in USR, and it's now working well.

Pelo, To install Flashplayer please update this GetFlash pet -> http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=74491

And then run it from the menu.

Tronkel and Eyes-Only on one page. This is a great week ;-) Plus abushcrafter and swiatmar. I am not joking--it is kind of like old times!
