How to install Compiz fusion in Lucid 5.28? (Solved)

Hello,

- I have a fresh install of Puppy Lucid 5.28 - and now i want Compiz Fusion installed.

i found some how tos in this forum before on how to install it - but can't seem to find that anymore...

anyone got a good search skill to find a good how to on that?

hi divisionmd

first off you need to install your graphic drivers .. quickpet>>>>drivers

then install these two .pets
http://ftp.nluug.nl/ibiblio/distributio ... -Lucid.pet
and
http://ftp.nluug.nl/ibiblio/distributio ... -Lucid.pet

then goto the menu >>> desktop>>>desktop settings>>>WM switcher, and switch to xfce

compiz should then be working...... if you find you have no window borders, try rebooting as that fixes it for me.

what if a person doesn't want the xfce part???

any possibility of compiz working in openbox? , kde?

it works in kde on lucid puppy.... not sure about openbox though

i have it set up in xfce.... but using rox file manager as i don't like thunar
