LXPanel - (Lucid 528-004)

#1 Post by chrome307 »

Hi there

I have attempted to compile LXPanel and it's libraries.

Image

They are all attached, I have been unable to get it to run, not sure how to switch window managers.

The files are here if you want to try this yourself - built using Lucid 528-004.

Approx 2mb:

Hmm... now that was really odd. The place - after making me wait nearly 60 seconds - tried to have me download an .EXE FILE. That's a Windows format which won't work in Linux.

Very odd indeed!

Hi there

That is strange, did you click on the 'blue' download button?

Anyway I have uploaded it here as well:

http://www.datafilehost.com/download-95278fe8.html

To get it running, I believe you can press CTRL+ALT+Backspace to restart XServer, then type in

xwin lxpanel

The config file and more info can be found on their wiki:

Thanks for reposting to another site Chrome! Got it now! :) If I have the time over the next few days ( and if I remember - I have a notoriously rotten memory as others here know only too well ) I'll attempt this on my 3HD-Puppy which is sort of a "fork/trial run" for Lucid-Pup. I'm hoping this works as I've had trouble running other LXpanels on 3HD found in the repos - as well in the Ubuntu repo I believe but am not 100% sure? - so I'm rather anxious to give this a try.

Thanks again for your work AND for going the extra length in making this available to me mate!

Oh yeah! - and at the other d/load site I did try the big blue d/load button and it didn't work for me. I was wondering whether or not it was due to my travelling with flash disabled by default - so I returned with a browser where I could enable flash with a button, refreshed the page, and it still failed to work. ( I should've reported all of this prior but I may have been in a hurry that day? ) On the otherhand the site may have had troubles at just that particular moment as those things DO happen from time-to-time.

As they say in English: "Nothing is 100% except death and taxes." So far I've found this to be true - at least the latter half. Soon to see whether the former half is equally as true. LOL!! :D

Cheers/Amicalement,

lol, good luck!!

I would have liked to have used this instead of fbpanel, as there appears to be more options available to you.
