Firefox 11 and Flashplayer Noscript clash? [Solved my bad]
Firefox auto-update got messed up, in version 7 & 8, so this could be causing your problems.stiginge wrote:This is a problem since updating to firefox11 on the weekend. Now I cannot play audio or youtube videos.

I'm running shockwave flash v.11.1.102r, what if I upgraded this?
You can get a good Firefox 11 here:
http://diddywahdiddy.net/Puppy500/Firef ... ucid-2.pet
I am using Lucid Puppy 5.2.8-004
Firefox11(above link)
The latest "Adobe Flash Player" by using "menu->internet->Install Flashplayer" (basically same program as "Getflash") to install "Flash player".
Works fine for me.
When all else fails you could always delete "Firefox" and "Flash player" and reinstall.
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.

If you download it and install, it should just install over the "Firefox" you have. It should (Key Word Should) retain the old bookmarks and settings. Nothing is 100% sure with computer software updating. It did work for me.stiginge wrote:its just a blank black space where the video should be showing that I've got now. Do you know bigpup if that ff version will copy my bookmarks, settings etc over from my existing ff?
Could you post a link to something you have tried to view.

If Firefox seems to work OK and none of the Firefox settings are blocking the Flash Player from working, I would uninstall Flash Player and reinstall.
Can you post a link to a video you have tried to play.

What shows that I have it installed?nooby wrote:Does not uninstall cleanly. PPM say it is successful but it still

Should I manually delete the directories?
PPM?
Have you rebooted?
May have it listed in PPM installed packages listing more than once. If so, keep uninstalling each one listed.
As last resort. But do need to be careful.Should I manually delete the directories?
Nothing to do with "Adobe Flash Player" ever seems to be simple!

So I gave up on it. I try another computer instead. That one is
faulty in other ways too. Fail to boot usb and faulty DVD.
So not worth all the effort
I use Google Search on Puppy Forum
not an ideal solution though

"Code deciphering was not one of my modules in college."
Furthermore, you might try this route for functional Flash..
*And should you decide to fall back- recovery's easy.
