Have you actually tried this? On my computer it just blocks the cursor at zero (seconds) and doesn't go further, so it can't record.

This version doesn't launch in Lucid puppy or Exprimo.
I'll have to test it with slacko. Fortunately version 1.3.12
exists for Slacko.

I tested it in Slacko 531 and it worked fine.
Recording , saving and opening files!!

Not selecting software playthrough did something weird, and one of the settings I can't remember which, but something like not selecting the soundcard, in any case some setting which would not work anyways made it lose all the text menus on top. Nothing to worry about in actual use as when the settings are all correct it works properly.
Idiosyncrasies like these seem to normally be a part of Audacity. And in any case it works much better in GNU/Linux than under Windows or Mac OS.
