Lingot 0.7.4

#1 Post by neurino »

A nice and lightweight Guitar (and Not-Only!) Tuner.

Image

Made off a deb package.

I also upx'd it... it can't be smaller than this! lol

I suggest you to raise Noise threshold in Options (for example 40 db) to make the needle less "flickering"

Note: it's not the latest version because it requires jack installed (it can be disabled compiling the software but I keep on getting __gmp_get_memory_functions error everything I try to compile in Wary... I wonder when it will be fixed... sgrunt! ) while this contents with ALSA

Thanks neurino,

I have a digital pocket tuner and often forget were I left it :D
So Lingot could be useful..

However, I noticed the Lingot Configuration screen freezes, after rasing the Noise threshold, when trying to close it. Tried three times and three times same result. Lucid Puppy 5.2.

Neurino, thanks, it starts up fine from terminal, but again freezes as soon as I try to close the Configuration window (clicking OK or any other button)

No errors except the warnings you seemed to expect.;

This pet is made with the original bin file from the deb package, not upx'd.

That is the only change I made so if it still freezes I just can't help more :( ...

No problem for me in Puppy 5.1.1

Hi again neurino,

The problem with the Config window is gone, it can now be closed without freezing.

But...the main window now refuses to close.
Anyway, thanks for your efforts!

Hi neurino,
- here tested on fuji-siemens PIV with an (rather common...) intel 82801DB-ICH4 sound card + (also common) logitech microphone -

Thanks letting know such that a nice tool for musicians !

Here in Slacko 5.3.1 (less common ..! ) tested version 8.01 available on Debian Packages
+ add jack-0.121.2-w-20110705.pet (thanks to forum member coolpup ! )
http://smokey01.com/coolpup/jack-0.121.2-w-20110705.pet
and it runs OOTB ! Even got a menu entry !

Played with Korg MA-30 metronome calibrated on 441Hz while Lingot was calibrated on 440Hz.

Hereunder are shown some record shots for various tunes. Red dots pick the fundamental tunes on the frequency graphs.

Thanks again ! Have fun !
Charlie
