Yep, I'm home again. I see we're up to version 2.02 now. Very nice. Unfortunately, I didn't get around to doing any Puppy art while I was away, but I did work on some sprites for a side project I have. Not Puppy related, but Puppy will be the first supported OS whenever I get the thing done (sometime between now and never :wink: ). Over the summer I also made some money, moved some hay, remembered why I need to buy a motorcycle someday, and built a new doghouse for my Puppy. Yep, my own computer 100%. Now I don't need to share with my little brother (or make him wait while I type my essays :roll: ) Glad to see 2.x can use my new harddrive. I was dissapointed when 109 didn't. I had no internet connectiion, so I was stuck with Vector for the summer. I spent most of my time at work, reading, or working on my "new" car. Now I'm back in Georgia, but college doesn't start for a couple weeks. That means I get to be a bum for a bit and get caught up with Puppyland. So, other than SATA support, a different wallpaper, some new icons, and a nifty volume button, what did I miss over the last couple months? What's going on with the whole .pet scheme? Official organization? Latest-greatest-tweak?

Uhg. It's 23:11 over here, I was in a car for the last day and a half, and I still haven't unpacked anything (short of my computer). I'd better stop rambling and get moving.

Oh, and I will make good on the art deal. Just need to get settled back in first. :)

Welcome back. We missed you (but not too much.) :)

Barry compiled the kernel with 4 GB highmem option. Now Puppy can use RAM over 1 GB. That's the big thing for me.

I even made a testversion of Gtk 2.10 with Gnome 2.14, but the required glib is erratic, so we will stay with 2.8 for some month.
I wanted to recompile Gnome this weekend, but as I have a new graficscard, I got addicted by Deus Ex2, that could not work with my old card. DX2 is a windows-game, that reminds me a lot of System shock 1, which was one of the first 3D-games with story. You can upgrade your Bio-implants for better sight and such, and must solve conspiracy by shooting cyborgs, hacking terminals, and doing favours to people of different religious communities.
The first episode works in Linux, too, but you must buy the windows-CD to be able to play it.

Some kids are hanging around in this Forum, I guess I put a link to one thread about them at the http://puppylinux.org front page. Maybe we can have a "below-21" section in this forum? :) Not every distro keeps a section like that. Think about this example: darkerror is trying a kernel recompile.

Mmmmm....I like meat.....

So, continuous mini-community puppies. If I wasn't tired I could probably make a joke out of that. Sounds interesting though, but almost redundant. Why give them a modified barebones? Why not just the vanilla barbones? Or is it more of a version-and-a-half type thing, so Barry works, then we work, then it goes back to Barry?

NTFS sounds good. Just in time for my acquisition of XP. That will speed up the cross-use between XP and Puppy that I'll probably be forced into this year. Cool.

Ooo. Geany by default. I like it.

Okay, I need to force myself to stop playing with Puppy and go to sleep now. :roll:

- much better, in fact, and have more than 50 years ahead, so that's hard to beat. :)

But perhaps contest is not the point - it's getting people listen to what the young say that matters. Some sort of "Board of Youngsters" to influence the future. :wink:

PS - Please share your presentations about Puppy; many people out there need them :oops: (er, need to know that there is something better for them, like Puppy).

Well, I finally got the majority of my stuff off my old computer and on to this one. I'm all unpacked too. Now I just need to clean up my mess and move some stuff into the Out house so I don't have to run accross the house to get to it. Then I can get to work on one of the infinite projects I wish I had time for. I think I'll start with my website. I haven't worked on it in so long I barely remember how it's laid out. I blame Puppy for monopolizing my time. :)

I finally gave up on my old host after the last time they crashed back in spring. I was too busy at the time to get a new one and I had summer break rapidly approaching, so I figured I'd just go without until I got back. It's due for a redesign anyways. I should be able to do a better job now, considering I made most of it two years ago. I have some good ideas and will probably think of more. And yes I plan to keep the green colorscheme if I can. :)
