You2pup has been on and off application due to changing database parsing APIs. I include it when it works and then I take it off when it does not.

Redshift gui needs libiup.so for compiling which evaded my quick searching. But the binary works in exprimo just fine. Nice tool to play when you have tired eyes.
I stripped dust of it and now it is smaller package. Also the menu entry has been fixed.

I compiled geany with default preferences...so it has support for usual geany features and also plugin support. The spellcheck plugin is included in geany pet. The geany-plugins pet has spellcheck also but it has all the plugins included that geany site offered. I didnt hunt any extra more or less non official plugins...but if someone knows them...please post feedback.

You need to install from repo libenchant and libhunspell also to get spell checking to work. It wont initialize otherwise.

I got spell checking to work with finnish in Geany.

About Dino. It is Qt app. It compiled easily in dpup. You will need Qt libs from repo. Basic is enough...or essentials.

..just tried this..very effective. After setting latitude, longitude..make sure to select a method in the location drop-down menu.

I have made an updated Icewm pet for dpup. It contains my usual customisations. This one is a little bit better than the one I made for SolidPup 5.1.1-Final.

The binaries for it come from the debian-i386 version. I used the Icewm-1.3.7-lucid pet as the base. (template)

Edit: reuploaded with a small bug-fix (you won't notice unless you install dillo and run it from the quicklaunch)

Thanks Tman. Looks good. Wmswitcher picked it up and e17 launching works after installing the pet. I will upload it to the exprimo repo.

Hi pemasu,
This little script may be handy for right click Rox menu - it is to extract all .debs files in a directory at once.

cheers.

Stu90. Just tested. It works fine. I had 3 debs at hand. I could test it in woof where I have 706 deb packages...if I dont find anything more useful to try. :D :D :D
I will create rox right click for...hmm..the name....Extract all .debs in directory....?
It would go to the /root/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/OpenWith/.inode_directory

I created rox right click for it. Now...when you right click the folder full of .debs...it extracts all debs inside that folder to the extracted-debs folder

None of the wireless apps in 5x13 will recognize a Netis WF-2109 USB nic.

The CD for this nic included a Linux Realtek driver:

RTL8192CU_8188CUS_8188CE-VAU_linux_v2..0.974.20100803.zip

I can send it to someone for testing. I'm not sure how to get it to be recognized.

ALSO ...

Network Status Information will not close when one clicks on the "X" in the upper-right corner, one must right-click then Close on the bottom toolbar. No biggie, just thought I'd mention it.

Well...woof still lacks firmware for rtl8192cu and rtl8192de drivers. Here they are. Install the pet and then try in console...first to be sure: rmmod rtl8192cu and then: modprobe rtl8192cu. Rebooting might be needed, not sure....but if the previous commands fail try rebooting.

Above means that the driver comes with kernel already. You just need the corresponding firmware to be installed.

My latest Dpup Exprimo 5.X.13.SMP with 3.1.10 kernel has all those rtl8192 firmwares preinstalled. I did the update yesterday...there seems to be order for them, lol.

Pet removed...see later post.

Thanks!

Hardinfo sees the nic but network does not.

I did reboot after running the PET.

I did manually-load the rtl8192cu USB module, when network did not pick up the nic, but "no new interfaces detected".

It is connected via a PCMCIA-USB adapter - if that is important.

Okay...I repackaged the pet....so that it installs the firmwares to the /lib/firmware/rtlwifi...not to the /lib/modules/all-firmware/rtlwifi....since I didnt add the firmwares to the /etc/modules/firmwares.dep file. It is possible that the firmwares were not found from that location. Uninstall the previous pet and install this one. It might work now.

Had to be out late yesterday but prior to that I tested this and same result as before - HardInfo sees the nic but none of the network apps will communicate with it.

I apparently forgot to post my improved version of the
Abispell dictionaries

I now have version 1.2 available at the thread.

This version will switch the dictionaries automatically
from language to language when $LANG is changed.
