zigbert I have to agree with you. Your Pmusic has come a long way from it's early incarnations.
It is my audio player of choice.
Thanks

Looks good, and also feels less flaky and more stable than before. But I still prefer Xnoise and I'd like to avoid adding ffmpeg to the base.
It's all good. I will try to maintain pcd.

Highlight Saluki entry and press 'e'
Highlight the line with 'pfix=fsck' and press 'e'
Change pfix=fsck to pfix=nox
press enter
press 'b'
When you get to the prompt type 'xorgwizard' and hit enter.
When you get to the prompt again, type 'xwin' and hit enter.

I don't think there's a bootcode for selecting specific drivers. However if this process works, and you successfully create a save file you'll only need to do this once. | Sorry, "pfix=nox" does not solve the problem, however symptoms are different. Setup screens are normal and then goes to a prompt. Both selecting probe or choose driver gives same results. Xwin boots to a gray screen, the only way out is the power off button.
Thanks,
Jim |
Does it do that if you pick the vesa driver? | Selecting the vesa driver gives a different symptom, xwin fails to boot, it just returns to a prompt.
Thanks,
Jim

same with my repo at http://www.smokey01.com/ttuuxxx/
you get the software list, but when you click on a iso, it gives you a white screen and no download to be found.

new box (relatively anyway) |
|
Finally got a replacement for one that was berked last year by a power spike! Payout from power co didn't allow a new box, but did allow a decent near-new to be purchased (with my first lcd screen).
Thought I'd try something puppy modern on it and cd'd Saluki 10.
These are my initial comments, don't take them to heart, there just observations and comments.
Boot and startup was ok,
-however it did try to setup the screensize one size larger than was good for optimum viewing, 1600x1200 on a 17"screen is a little tight even if the screen can take it, maybe there needs to be either a table that reads the monitor's screensize and sets the default down a step or two or alternately have the default set at 1024x768 for all and let users change this upwards (as they can) in the startup settings.
-nice idea / like the boxes down the rhs showing storage devices connected, however do wonder if they should only show removable devices (cd/dvd, memsticks, etc) and not individual hard drive partitions, only the saluki, grub and swap are there so far. If I had my external drive stack (connects via a usb2 port) plugged in I suspect it would have either crashed or taken a lot of time as there are 63 stacked partitions on it.
- installed frugal cleanly and it did put grub in the propper place first time.
- did a savefile on reboot, but had to create a new config on re-startup (no cd in drive). I thought this problem had been sorted out back in 525/528?
-will test further and report if problems are found.
-if you / anyone are / is considering playing with ppm, the 'check dependancies installed packages' part, it needs some work, i've filled two columns with apps and it's overflowed again (barry did a fix last time to go from one to two columns). My sugestion what would be better is one column with a scroll bar, then we should never have a limit problem.
regards
scsijon
