Many thanks - easy when you know how - but if you don't know how, impossible to guess.....I expected it to be a right click function but of course that didn't work

Samba?

#822 Post by peebee »

Hi jemimah

Any chance I could ask for pnethood to be included for samba shares?

You need

http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dis ... atched.pet

and

http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dis ... -0.6.8.pet

They work fine in saluki

Thanks

009: Can't get a FULL to boot. KP, try entering init= . Equals what?!
G4D. Please can we have the Legacy GRUB - it may not be pretty, but it works on almost anything - AND it's a tiny file.

....or is it there and I missed it?

Full install problems

I can't do a full install either. Same problems as Sage. Neither Saluki 8 nor Saluki 9 will work. Thanks, Rob

Very true! What next? Can't find a way to run it from Find! Don't want the utility displayed as a text file. Only G4D offered under "Run". G4D runs OK but I get a KP, as indicated above: not syncing no init found and all that garbage we had some time ago.

So is it bust or what does init equal?!

Never did like G4D. Too many smart-*sses fiddling around with simple stuff that works?! Loadsa threads all over this board expressing the same sentiments. K.I.S.S.

Tried to run Legacy from Luci & luki2beta - didn't work either.

flsynclient

#827 Post by Marv »

Figured out the lack of scrolling. In the flsynclient GUI, turning off tap mode in the list box also turns off scrolling. It sets the touchpad off parameter to 2 in .flSynclient. To get scrolling, no tapping, leave the setting at the default (touchpad on in the GUI) and edit .flSynclient so that MaxTapTime is 0. So, only the calibrate functions seem truly broken there.
Pups currently in kennel :D Older LxPupSc and X-slacko-4.4 for my users; LxPupSc, LxPupSc64 and upupEF for me. All good pups indeed, and all running savefiles for look'n'feel only. Browsers, etc. solely from SFS.

I'm not sure what you mean by "apply global-menu".

It makes a "strange" root directory.

Also, any thoughts on (mounted) drives showing on the Desktop?
No those shouldn't have been copied in.

I could put drives on the deskop, but they're already in Thunar. I guess you mean unmounted drives. I don't like to do that because then every time you click on the drive I'll have to ask you if you want to unmount it or open Thunar - annoying. Xfdeskop has no way to implement a right-click unmount option like Rox does.

Doh. I'll fix that next release.

Fix it with

Code: Select all

chmod 755 /usr/sbin/xmenumaker

I installed glib-networking but run into a "not responding" midori problem.

However , (re)installing the midori-0.4.3-i486.pet solved my problem

Actually I was referring mostly to mounted volumes and removables.I think that thunar-volman can handle right-click with these.

xarchiver

#838 Post by Marv »

Installed xarchiver as part of core Saluki and removed it from the adrive (moved/pruned xfce4 themes for practice while I was in there. I think xarchiver deserves a spot in the core as it's pretty essential for updates and apps and the adrive 'can' be optional. Possibly Geany also.

Scritching my old head. With adrive loaded, nice frames around launchers when hovered. adrive not loaded, no frames. They're kind of purty, especially with transparent or near transparent icon backgrounds. Not the xfce4 themes or panel XMLs. Same icons and themes used in both cases. ???

it needs HAL which I won't be adding.
