Hi, I have a samsung n120 netbook but the FN key's and wireless key are not working in puppy race. It seems that samsung users need this pet..
https://launchpad.net/samsung-tools
Perhaps someone could make a pet?
or is there a way to add the ppa in puppy?
thanks.
Samsung tools for netbook
Jemimah did a Puppy she named Puppeee that was made for EeePC
and that one had such Fn keys too and she activated many of them?
And she also made Wifi and sleep and such possible.
Now Samsung maybe is very different from Asus?
But maybe it is worth a try to check out? You have to know if it is am
atom or celeron CPU but you can also check up on pemasu's
Snow Puppy because he reused her code on those to have the wifi and
drivers she made use of so if you make frugal install of both these then
you will know withing some 30 minutes if them work on Samsung.
To find a dev that is good at using that code you link to you can use
the search I link to and look for people that do pets and somehow befriend
them.
I would change the title of your thread to
Need pet for Samung netbook FnKeys
or similar so the right people see your thread

I use Google Search on Puppy Forum
not an ideal solution though

Hi nooby
I'll test the other puppy's if they work but I allready tried out lucid puppy eeepuppy but they don't seem to work.
I have this samsung n120 netbook and the wifi and other fn key's don't work.
I installed samsung tools from deb ubuntu it installed,
but then it complained about dbus so I installed dbus from puppypackage manager. But it still will not work it complains about dbus.
but if someone know's a puppy that works for samsung netbook.
I had some problems with race puppy the package manager is full of bugs! after pressing update some repos don't work, it crashed and it wouldn't launch.
Thanku.

My guess is that maybe you have installed dbus, but it also needs something like the Python bindings for dbus.catpuppy wrote:I installed samsung tools from deb ubuntu it installed,

When you get error messages, please post the actual message, not just a general description like "complains about dbus".

Or maybe you just need to finish setting up dbus by running
Or maybe you just need to start dbus.
Code: Select all
dbus-uuidgen > /var/lib/dbus/machine-id
