Driver loading issues with rt2870sta?

#1 Post by ilanrab »

Attempted with Sony laptop, Dell laptop, and Dell netbook.
Install: frugal onto USB flash drive.
System: Puppy 5.2.5 . Not using 5.2.8, due to sound problems.

The new USB adapter isn't detected.
lsusb shows the device as 148f:5370
ifconfig doesn't show any wireless
frisbee does not detect any wireless networks at all or anything relating to wireless.

strange.

Any ideas?

Hello ilanrab

Maybe this is what you are looking for: rt5370sta-v2.5.0.1-k2.6.33.2.pet
It is in the Drivers for Puppy 5.1-5.2.8 with 2.6.33.2 kernel thread.

YES!!!!!
That did the trick.
Once the rt5370sta driver was installed, instead of existing rt2870sta, Frisbee took over, and vooiillllla --> there's connectivity.
Thank you so much CatDude :)
Happy holidays
