Subject description: Keyboard stopped to work in Puppy 5.2.8

Well, this is the strangest thing that has happened to me so far in Puppy:
I just started the PC with Puppy 5.2.8 CD, downloaded Chromium, and when I tried to use the keyboard, it was dead. Checked cables and connections: everything was OK. Reboot to my HDD Distro: PCLinuxOS LXDE 2011-09, and keyboard was normal. Then reboot with my old Puppy 5.2 CD, and keyboard was normal. Then again reboot with Puppy 5.2.8 and keyboard was dead.
I was thinking that this might be the opportunity to move to Slacko 5.3, but after a minute thought about personalization done so far with my Puppy 5.2.8 save-file, I decided to make this post.
I really have no idea, even of how will I apply any suggestions you might have if I don't have access to my keyboard in Puppy 5.2.8?
This is my first really really first help call in this forum. I consider myself a Linux newbie, but I have done many things so far in my 18 months using Linux with Ubuntu 10.04, Puppy Linux 5.2 and 5.28, and PCLinuxOS LXDE.
The worst that I can have is deleting my Puppy 5.2.8 save-file and moving to Slacko 5.3 or Light House Mariner 5.12 or any best suggestion for Puppys you might have. Anny suggestions are very welcome. Thank you.

I will do it...
Update: It didn't solve the problem. I removed Chromium, re-boot and keyboard was dead.
I ran Slacko 5.3 from the CD and everything was OK.
I'll wait to see if someone finds a solution. If not, i'll change to Slacko 5.3.

With Lupu-528...

And if/when using a lupusave file being held on a USB device [Flash Drive?]

There are problems being experienced in these circumstances, by some people.

In my case the sound is disabled [I have both on-board, plus a card in use].

A fix is being sought, and has probably been found.
playdayz supplied me [in a PM] with two ISO's = test02 & test03, and both do not display the problem.
I have reported that in the thread, but so far no response.

Perhaps you should report your Lupu-528 problem in the thread.

Sylvander: My lupusave is held in HDD.
From the link provided in your post (http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=588745&sid=763399169d9ef45f9f229027db055306#588745)
I noticed from a post there by ferro10n “Sorry, I'm afraid this off-topic is taking space from developers trying to fix an important bug. If you still have any questions please start a new post in the beginners section.”
In my case, I consider myself a Linux newbie. Should I post in that thread my keyboard problem with Puppy 5.2.8 (updated 002)? In my humble opinion a bug with a keyboard is important.

(a) Yes, I believe you aught to post about your keyboard problem in the Lupu thread.
And...
(b) Your problem with the keyboard is important, and appears to not be a hardware problem, but somehow related to the Lupu-528 OS.

I continued installing packages, and problem persisted. I decided to delete my lupu-save for Puppy 5.2.8 and I am now using Slacko 5.3. May be lupu-save was corrupted. Should I mark this thread "solved"?

No...

I wouldn't consider it solved.

Not yet anyway.
