Which Puppy has the best hardware support?

#1 Post by geebob »

Are there derivatives that support more hardware and are more driver heavy than other derivatives?

Try the latest Wary Puppy for older hardware, Racy Puppy for newer.

There is no right answer. Two approaches are possible:
- Just go at it: try wary or racy versions and then work your way through slacko and lupu and derivatives.
- Be systematic: Make a list of your hardware (for that you need your hardware profile) and search through the forum section on hardware to see where trouble points were mentioned. Flag these and search through the Derivatives section to see which ones are compatible with your hardware.

You might have to combine the approaches. That is, find a Puppy that you can install and then get a hardware profile of your machine and work systematically.

Good luck,
