There is no Kindle book reader currently available for linux systems, but you can read Kindle ebooks anyway!
Install any version 11 or later Google Chrome browser. Then go to the Google Apps Store and download/install the free Kindle Cloud Reader. This will let you read any of the Kindle books available from Amazon.
Tried it this morning running Chrome 16 in Slacko53. Worked like a charm.

Layout and fonts are great. Interface easy to use.
I believe the Kindle reader can also be used in Firefox, but without the handy Launcher... that 's a Chromium extension.
