RSH,
If you are really interested in lazarus you will see that all the answers to your questions in your last post to me are in this picture
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... a018213413
and especially why I do not intend at all to send this version in the cyberspace.
So it is useless to multiply in urgency the same demands in the same message and to send me another PM.
If I specified to you the name of the lazarus's version I tested under the specified Slacko it is to avoid claiming that "generic lazarus" works universally in puppy, as you do in your first message and the title of your topic .

Things are just a bit more complicated ....

Hi!
Moose on the Loose wrote:It appears that I can't add any sort of an attachment to my posts and have them go through. I have a copy of a pet that works fine under lucid-525 but unless I think of some other way to do it, I can't give it to you.
I know this problem as well. It has always been unsuccessful on files bigger than 1mb. I've sent to you an pm with some data where you can upload the file(s).

Would be nice, if you do so!

Yes, for sure.I am really interested in lazarus. That's why i'm acting here! The picture just shows to me one thing: you have compiled a GUI-Frame with one Object within it. Just a button. It also shows you did not add an event to the object inspector. That is stuff, we already have compiled and a bit more. So, this is not really new stuff to me (to us). As the picture shows, It also does not touch the main problem. (The operator may delete this picture because it shows NOTHING).
Gyle wrote:and especially why I do not intend at all to send this version in the cyberspace.
ESPECIALLY???

Sorry. I can not see why you "DO NOT INTEND AT ALL TO SEND THIS VERSION IN THE CYBERSPACE." So, this is your dektop, your favorite colors and it is french, that i can not read, speak and write. Where in the picture is this ESPECIALLY information placed/hidden?

Isn't a forum like these at first reason made to share information, knowledge and files too?*

Maybe ESPECIALLY means you weren't able to do anything else with that sfs? If, than you are right not to send this in the cyberspace. It is already filled with stuff like that.
Gyle wrote:So it is useless to multiply in urgency the same demands in the same message and to send me another PM.
Yes, it is useless. This is my experience of making demands/requests and pm's to you. I did act like this because i am "really interested in lazarus" and i want to make programmings using Lazarus & Free Pascal in Puppy. It seems like you are not interested to do the job this forum is made for: (the above question*). By the way: i have been a PASCAL programmer for years (since the early 1990's) on the TOS (AtariST) using ST PSACAL plus 2.00. Then if you want to have a GUI you have had to program it manually by code or using a resource construction set (like a GUI-Builder). I have created some programs (paint, programmable database, shell to use the programs of ST PSACAL plus comfortably, texteditor etc.pp). My main creation has been a dtp drumscore editor. It has no midi functions but multiple functions to layout documents including drumscores (and normally scores), graphical objects, pictures, polygons, textobjects and many more as there is f.e. an integrated script language. So a document can be saved as script (text) and will be rebuild by loading this script. That's why i am interested in lazarus!

As you can see in the information wich is shown in my posts, i have joined this forum on 05 Sep 2011. I have used a muppy 08.3F System since Jan. 2009. But just installed to USB and installed some programs (Audacity, Rosegarden, Jack) that have been installed automatically after download. There were two sfs files that contained open office, gimp, exaile and many more programs. I was not really working with puppy just using the programs. So i am a newbie in working with puppy, downloading and installing files manually, writing scripts, creating pet's and sfs' etc.pp.

Since i have joined this forum i've been using a kubuntu 11.04 System wich has a full working lazarus 0.9.28 with fpc 2.4.0. I wanted to use this in puppy an while i've searched for this i have found the sfs of lazarus 0.9.30 with fpc 2.4.2 and downloaded it. I have build an sfs containing this version of lazarus and fpc, gambas, bacon and the devx.sfs. I have tested the programs running and have compiled some examples and everything seemed to be fine. After a few days i have found this one in the forum: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=68589. This post shows an error in lazarus that i haven't seen because i did not try to add an event to the object inspector. I have posted there on Fri 11 Nov 2011, 17:28 and got an description of the main problem on Fri 11 Nov 2011, 17:32. Tested it and got the same error messages.

From this point i started to search and download everything i could find about lazarus and fpc on the internet. I have searched also the forum but did just find the same files and one iso build by alejol and mirrored by mu, that does not work. It has just not been tested by alejol and mu. I did not find any posts by Moose on the Loose in context to lazarus and free pascal (obviously he can't find his own post too).

From Fri 11 Nov 2011, 17:32 to 14 Nov 2011, 13:05 i worked almost without sleeping to get lazarus and free pascal working. And then i found the described "solution" and i have declared also that "the shown way surely can not be the final solution but it works - for now"

The point is: i have tested this on various puppies and there has been always the same errors. The shown way also works on all these puppies that i have had tested. This was Lucid 525 & 528, Puppy Studio 3.3 & Wary 5.2. So to me there is absolutely no difference. I have downloaded and tested Slacko 5.3 after Lobster has posted (Tue 15 Nov 2011, 09:50). Yesterday i installed lazarus/fpc and it's the same problem and the same "solution".

So: where is the difference?
Gyle wrote:Things are just a bit more complicated ....
Yes, that's right. This is one of the experiences i had made since i have had joined the forum. But actually not in the case of installing, running and working lazarus with fpc.

So again: where is the difference?

I think not to share your copy of the sfs and suggesting i would publish general solutions without testing anything is quite a bit of bad attitude, you are showing here (just send stuff like this to alejol).

RSH, it appears that you like trolling....
see that:
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 4b8#582755
You can understand that I have tested mainly "SFS-Load on-the fly", not lazarus per se, and used heavy applis all at once to charge the "experimental" work of Shinobar at the maximum.
The specific version I wrote to you the version's name, was not of importance but size and complexity.
I have compiled a button to see if the appli was rightly installed by "SFS-Load on-the fly" and if running lazarus totally in ram from DVD was possible for Slacko and my specific machine, and how easily they could managed the multiple windows of the appli.
The same scenario for OpenOffice.
I took the precaution to edit my post to verify and correct the simple names or pseudos of all the applis I have cited in my post, adding the full name of the version only for the free Linux applis, instead of their generic name, to avoid that someone aks for in the future.

The question is why have you postponed
"I have found a way to use lazarus and free pascal under puppy"
although there is nothing under the hood at the end of the story, so you are now asking greedily for this *old beta version with no more support* with an irrelevant logic compared with your title and your "tutorial" ?
Yet you have here on this forum one of the best programmers and developers in the person of pemasu who downloaded one of the newest version of lazarus,
http://www.smokey01.com/pemasu/Sfs/Laza ... -2.4.2.sfs , with may be his support and the support on the Anglo-Saxon sites to solve your installation problems and inform you about the problems inherent in lazarus still unsolved to this day ...

The bad attitude is to disseminate old beta versions, no more controlled and supported, which continue to pollute the net and generate insoluble questions on the forums.

Hello Gyle,

i did not asked for that "old beta version with no more support*. i have build a .pet and an .sfs out of the downloaded Kubuntu 11.04 Lazarus and FPC files because the http://www.smokey01.com/pemasu/Sfs/Laza ... -2.4.2.sfs doesn't work. It has been downloaded by me, by panoss and some others. It has been all the same: it won't work.

I have been just testing around and suddenly the 09282 lazarus did work. That's why i am opening this topic and why i put my focus on 09282.

However, all this here is now (18.11.2011 22:58 gmt+1) no longer up to date, because panoss has made progress and some nice work. If you are interested in, look at the edited first post of this topic.

I really don't want to fall in endless, useless and also not really helpful discussions with you or any other user in this forum. All i want here is to get some information, help and files too and also give some of that, if i am able to do so.

You are just going from here
Hi RSH, glad to see your thread !
Tested an old version, buried somewhere on HD, lazarus-0.9.28.2-complete.sfs, on Slacko few days ago with success.
to here
So it is useless to multiply in urgency the same demands in the same message and to send me another PM.If I specified to you the name of the lazarus's version I tested under the specified Slacko it is to avoid claiming that "generic lazarus" works universally in puppy, as you do in your first message and the title of your topic .

Things are just a bit more complicated ....
just because i have made an request and sended an pm to you?

And to respect the truth: you have specified the used lazarus version, that's true, but never specified the slacko version. You have just called it slacko. I have checked your posts again.

May be it is because you are a french man and i am a ger man and we are communicating using a language that is not our own language. So i will go on to believe that as a fact. And (please don't worry about that) to let no further missunderstandings arise: please, leave me alone. Thank you.

You are interested in using lazarus 0930 and fpc 242? read the edited first post and just follow the offered links to panoss's solution and description.

Of course! I wrote this to sensibilize you that "beta" IS WRITTEN in the picture.
And to respect the truth: you have specified the used lazarus version, that's true, but never specified the slacko version
Yes, "on Slacko *a few days ago* " sounded to me that it was obviously the last 3, not the old ones...
just because i have made an request and sended an pm to you?
Please don't confuse all.
As you said, there is some misunderstanding, but not with the language, with the feelings... you just minimize the form of your requests, the timing of your posts, and this "again"... preceding the repetition of the same demand with heavy bolded colored words in the same post, and finally your Pm some time later. We need to be cool and not being in a hurry with the others.
To answer further your questions on compilation, I work now on mikroPascal for microcontrollers, I tried lazarus some years ago after leaving the Window's stuff area of Borland Delphi7 that I used for some applis in the welding industry. This now is a try to implement the MBus (Meter-bus) on a Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) card I develop to read water-meters placed a long distant from home of fellows spoiled by the racket of the gang financially fed by the leaks of our old free water.
Best wishes.
Cheers

Just the way it is.

It is the procedural process

that ensures superior reliability.

Any plans on compiled code for Puppy?

I have done a lot of program for work using the FreePascal. I may start to put some of the pets of things not strictly business related up on a personal web site. It is mostly a matter of me getting over my extreme laziness and doing it but there is also a legal issue with who owns a few of the items.

The legal stuff can be sorted out if only the laziness problem would get solved. I even went to the book store and asked them if they had any books in the self help department on overcoming laziness but they wouldn't go get me one.

Hello,

thanks to everyone for helping. It seems to be solved and working on almost all puppies (not making too big words, but i've tested 4 different puppies successfully). So if anyone is intested to work with lazarus-0.9.30.0 and fpc-2.4.2 then read from here: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 9&start=48 to the end, download the files and enjoy this.

Hello Gyle,
You wrote:As you said, there is some misunderstanding, but not with the language, with the feelings...
.

No, there has been some misunderstandings by using language. As you said you specified the slacko you mean "Slacko". This to you is specifying a puppy version. To me a specified version is not only "Slacko". To me a specified version means "Slacko" incl. the version number - f.e.: Slacko 5.3. That is what i am calling a specified puppy version. In that case you didn't specify the version.

And so on...

However: never mind. The whole thing seems to be fine and finally solved and as i said before "actually there is no difference using lazarus and fpc in puppy". It is actually tested in Lucid 528, Studio 3.3, Wary 5.2 and Slacko 5.3. It works in all these puppies and so i think it will work in almost all puppies that are able to find its .sfs file after creating a savefile (icepuppy doesn't).

Hello together,

can someone tell where there is the file of lazarus-0.9.28.2-complete.sfs download? Attempts just Lazarus in my 431-de to incorporate.
So far, I have tested the following pets:
lazarus-0.9.25-svn12782.pet
Lazarus-0.9.30.0-fpc-2.4.2.pet
continue to:
devx_431.SFS + Lazarus-0.9.30.0-fpc-2.4.2.sfs
where ever does nothing itself at startup!

Some of you have already experience with Lazarus I think?

Many greetings

Wolfgang
