Translate pclock

#1 Post by don570 »

Translate pclock(renamed Puppy Clock)

This is a power timer program with many features
thanks to its integration with pschedule by Zigbert.

I already have French and German.

... but I would love more

Just read the next post and translate the English
between the quotation marks into your language.

Then post on this thread or send by email to me.
Check out the software so you understand what
you're translating.

pclock is here

or Puppy Clock

The reason why the German translation is so bad is
because I was using my High School German.

A properly done translation would be welcome.

Almost finished for spanish (don't know how to translate "lap", "split" and "laptime")
I think 'lap' and 'laptime' could be 'lapso' and 'lapso de tiempo' if it's a time span, and 'split' is usually 'dividir'. Don, could you explain what are the functions from these lines?

translate

#9 Post by don570 »

Zigbert wrote that code to time athletic events,

so 'Lap' means 'Going around in a circle once'

A race is composed of several 'Laps'

The German translator translated 'Lap' as 'Runde'
which is a cognate to the English 'Round'

'Laptime' is the time taken for a "Lap"

In German it's 'Rundezeit'.

'Split' is difficult to translate. It means divide up into smaller bits.
In English we say to split a log or a stone or a reward.

Thanks for trying.

Got it, in sports 'lap' is 'vuelta' in Spanish, so 'laptime' should be 'tiempo de vuelta'.
'Split' is easier, we say 'partir' or 'dividir' in Spanish. To better understand, the English word is popular here for a type of air-conditioner that has two pieces joint by a tube that passes through a wall, this way you don't get a giant hole in your wall because the air-conditioner is split.

Nice job Masf! :D

OK, the completed translation then should look like this:

I corrected a couple of words, if you use informal speech ('tú' conjugations) you should maintain it from the beginning to the end (Crea tu alarma, haz clic aquí, etc.), I fixed it to be all formal, i.e. 'usted' conjugations (Cree su alarma, haga clic aquí, etc.).

I'll work on the pet package on Sunday.

Note to ferro have you tried my application
Bacon Recorder. I could use a tranlation into
Portugese and Italian for it.
It's my favorite app!! So I would appreciate you
taking the time to translate it!!

Also the Spanish version of Baconrecorder probably
has some errors in the translation that
could use your attention.
