Puppeee 4.4 iso Subject description: Docs, devxsfs,4.4 Celeron iso |
|
Here is my Puppeee 4.4 stuff. I uploaded it up to my Ubuntu One Account, I have made it public access. Bear with me as I have never uploaded files to the cloud or ever used my Ubuntu one account. Hopefully someone with a server will download and host these files with the 1.0 Puppeee Iso.

4.4 devxsfs

Docs (it is all I have)

Funny how I have to use Ubuntu One to host Puppeee Iso. I just tested this in preview and download box opens from link. So should be good to go. Atom Iso to come later because it takes forever to upload.

I think of that guy that started the puppe site with one less e???
Her name was puppeee and his was one or two shorter?
Them kind of competed? Would him not have all the documentation on his server then? or at least him ahve it at his home on some hdd? as a backup? Should we not ask him now if the way back machines fails at it.
I don't get it. Jemimah who always are so organized and really structured would she not have the documentation on a back up somewhere?
I mean would not be like her to just trust the hosing service to have a back up of it. Those can get flooded or burned down or get bankrupsy whatever so she should have a back up?
Okay we should not make her a phone call such can be embarrassing and to be too close to her home. But a nice friendly email or PM would that not work?

Sometimes when someone walks away from a project...they really walk.
At this point we might conclude that if Jemimah wanted Puppeee and Fluppy to survive, she would have done something other than have the website devoid of content.
One could try emailing the contacts for the domain listed at:

Anyone have a link to the 4.4 rc2 devx? (i.e. 514 devx)
The link at the top of the page is for the 4.3 series.

Honestly, I just ran out of enthusiasm for the project. Working on it started to feel like a real chore. It got to the point where I just couldn't do it anymore. The website when down because I stopped paying the bill. I guess I felt quite guilty for not maintaining it and deleting the spam, and it was bringing me down emotionally. Also I dropped/broke a couple of my netbooks and that made me sad. I never use any of them anymore (because I need to carry the big honker for my current work engagement) so that's why development stopped. Also I get the impression that the market has largely moved on to tablets. If I were to start any new projects, I'd need to be excited about the hardware.
Also, during most of the development of Puppeee my day job was not very time consuming or intellectually stimulating. I needed something to keep me from losing IQ points. However, that situation has changed (for the better). I'm not sure what will happen with my job this year - but I think I will stay challenging. I did my first gig as implementation (BMC) tech lead for the past six months. Really, this is the first time in my career that I've felt even remotely challenged.
I do regret just letting the website expire without warning and I apologize for that. I was simply trying to get rid of some of my own emotional baggage and acted impulsively.

Hello, Jemimah!
We all have rainy days, some more than others. I'm sorry to hear about your netbooks, and about Puppeee and Fluppy.
I have to say, the first time I tried Fluppy I was not impressed with the appearance, but I went back to it awhile later and was flat-out amazed at what I had been missing because I only gave it 10sec. As for Puppeee... well... my primary computer is an ASUS Eee 1000HEB anyone want to guess what my very first exposure to Puppy was? Yep, Puppeee.
I'm glad to hear that you have a good job (I wish I did) -- and I definitely identify with the whole "I don't like it if it feels like a chore" (which is why I will never be a graphic artist by profession -- I know that if I start having other people tell me what to draw, when, and how, I will put down the pencil for the rest of my life, and I don't want that to happen) -- but I'm sure I'm not the only one who misses you around here.
Also, I'm going to send you a friendly PM in a minute or two... see if I can help with something. My little way of giving back if I can.

Jemimah a big warm hug to you and wish you all the best.
I should not give advice but being a very old old guy I hope
you can forgive me for saying that all experience say that
one should do things because them feel good.
When things feel like a chore or obligation from others then
one easily get worn out.
if you have files that you can share with us on the wayback
server that TLChost talks about do send them to him so
people who love your Puppeee and Fluppy can find the needed
files. If them are gone with those bad luck machines then
gone are gone.
Thanks indeed for sharing with us. Much appreciated.

BTW... don't think I have Puppeee anywhere still, but I know I have Fluppy 013, and I might still have Fluppy 011. If Jemimah's OK with it, and someone can point me to a hosting place (russoodle: could I use that space you gave me for The Puppy Formerly Known As GreenPup?) I will gladly scan in those CDs (ImgBurn can do that I think) and put them up here.

Hi jemimah
Glad to hear you are ok and that the brain-buds are being stimulated.
If and when you get some time - Puppy ported to arm -
might be a challenge you may wish to consider?
There would be a massive amount of enthusiasm for it -
should you ever feel so inclined.
Regarding Puppeee and Fluppy, we are forever in your debt.
Both are fantastic puppy's and IMHO represent some of (if not the)
finest pinnacles of achievement in PuppyLand.
Without doubt - if one has an EeePC - there is only one OS to use.
What you did was outstanding - much appreciated by so many.
Very best regards and much success with all that you do in the future.
Ray
