Converting frugal install to full install |
|
Hi all,
I have Slacko 53 as a frugal install. And it works very well.
So now I would like to convert it into a full install to a HD partition.
I have installed several programs, and my desktop is setup as I like it.
Would I have to start all over again ?
Or...
Can I install Slacko to the partition, then copy across the files from my frugal savefile ?
My apologies if this has already been covered before.
Regards,
Phil

Thanks, Aitch,
I will have a look at those links. I am leaning towards a remaster, which I have realised might be the best way.
Thanks for your help - appreciated.

A sort of clever trick is to run through the remaster process but not to burn the CD. When you are done, you have a new SFS. The CD version will load that SFS instead of reading the one from the CD if it sees it on the hard drive. This way, you can test the remastered version before you commit yourself to it.
If the remastered version is good then you can use the CD burner to make a CD. I went through a lot of CDs before I discovered this.
