Pemasu's Useful Pups |
|
Hi Pemasu:
My wireless problems may have been caused by:
(a) Router required resetting -- it gets clogged from time to time and slows to a crawl. I reset it only after I first tried to set up Exprimo 5x9.
(b) Having been frustrated by SNS's unexpected failure to establish connection, I probably didn't spend as much time as I should have wading through the menus.
I'm among those who find your pups useful. Although I explore other puppys and puplets trying to be as helpful as I can be with my limited knowledge to the devs, Exprimo smp is the OS I primarily use on my quod-core desktop, and Midnight pup is the only OS I regularly used on my Thinkpad T42.
And, if I haven't said it recently, thanks for your efforts.

I have attempted to run two of Sc0ttman's emulator .pet files, lxdream and MUPEN64plus, and both crash due to a lack of "GLX." What this means, I do not know, only that everything else is fine(no dependency complaints aside from the GLX error and no errors in the terminal).

@edoc: On one of the client machines, install the attached PET. Then run the command
| Code: | | nmap 192.168.1.120 -p 631 |
What does it report about Port 631?

I opened CUPS and went to Administration and clicked Find New Printers.
That has always worked in the past ...
BTW: I posted that before you requested the Nmap output.
Does the nmap output tell us anything helpful, please?

You don't need to do this - the printers are already installed. Either open the Printers section of CUPS or just launch an application and open its Print dialog.

Wow, way cool, it works! Thanks
Now that they have updated to automate things why have they left the old instructions in place?
It is very confusing for those of us who are used to the old way - and for the rare bird who reads instructions!

Who are "they" and what instructions are you talking about?

CUPS shared printers have ALWAYS worked this way.

Warrior522. Install xorg_high pet with puppy package manager, or xorg_high.sfs with dpup sfs downloader.
