aisleriot Pet

#1 Post by retry3 »

Downloaded card game collection Pet "aisleriot" and clicked on "install" & "trim the fat".

The pet Manager shows aisleriot_2.30.0 as installed and I can find files in /root/.packages and /usr/share and a menu entry in the Fun portion but cannot get any thing to open.

Running lupu 5.1.2 on HP Pavilion Notebook.

Promised the wife I would get some solitaire games for her to play and because Puppy was so great it would be easy. Help.

TIA

Use ppm and uninstall the pet you installed then get gnome-games-Lite at http://distro.ibiblio.org/puppylinux/pe ... 486-uj.pet. It works great on all lucid series and contains aisleriot plus other fine card games.

Also consider upgrading to the latest Lucid.

You can also go here http://puppylinuxstuff.meownplanet.net/DaveS/tk_tcl/. It will ask you for a username and password. The username is puppy and the password is linux. Download tcl_tk_plus.sfs, and mount it from mnt/home in the usual way. This will give you Tkspider and Freecell. Both play really well and render beautifully.

DaveS
Thank you for the Free Cell download tip.
I have downloaded tcl_tk_plus.sfs.
I have placed it in *my-applications* in root.
See screenshot below.
How do I get it to run?
I've not done a download and run like this before.
Thank you in advance.

PS - This is intended to run on Frugal Install of Puppy 4.3.1 on a Toshiba 2805-S401.

It needs to be moved to /mnt/home, then do:

Menu>System>BootManager>Configure which extra SFS files to load...

Select the tcl SFS & Add it to the Right-Pane, choose OK, then reboot.

(I'm guessing here that p431 has this utility?)

Also PySolFC has over a 1000 different patience games.

The only one I play though, as it needs more thought to get out, is seahaven, available in the top_10_games.zip, a collection of 10 tiny games.

Thank you, Muggins.
Both the .sfs and the top_ten_games.zip loaded as per your directions.
Yes, Puppy-431 has *Boot Manager*.
