have used multi-session for a long time now and haven't had this problem, usually after the second session is saved, the rox panel icons are exactly as I had them set up, but not in 5.2.8, any suggestions
thanks yim

I'm afraid I haven't tried Lucid 5.2.8 yet. Anyway it's not clear to me what you mean. It would help a lot if you gave a more thorough and precise description of what you're trying to do and the result you're getting.
It looks like you're changing the desktop icons somehow, but the changes are not being saved. How are you changing the icons? Deleting some of them? Dragging them around on the desktop? Adding new ones?

I'm doing all of what you said, moving , deleting adding new ones, but after save the ones I deleted are back and the ones I've moved are all over the other ones, like I said haven't had this problem or not with 5 series puppy. 5.2.5 and 5.2.6 works like a charm. Not a big deal but would be kinda nice to figure this out.

I tried what you are doing with a multi-session CD of 528.
After doing some changes to the desktop I rebooted and made a save to the CD.
After the reboot. The desktop had some of the changes, but not all.
I made some changes, but this time I selected the save button on the desktop and saved to the CD.
The next time I rebooted, all the changes to the desktop where there.
I have 3 saves to the CD now and it seems to be working.
Maybe using the save button did the trick.

Well, that's not good. I always assumed the Save button did the exact same thing (invoked the same program or subroutine perhaps) as choosing Save to CD when you shut down. Ted Dog, are you reading this? Can you tell us the story?

I'd like to clear up the difference between Saving to CD at shutdown and saving by using the desktop Save icon, if possible.

hi all
I am having similar problems with slacko 499.1 (multisession dvd) added new icons and rearranged both the new and original icons (tried both save on shutdown and the save on the desktop) but when I rebooted the icons were not where I placed them.
hope this helps
