Dpup Exprimo 5.X.15
The execute row is unticked by Gftp. It informs that permissions are changed when it unticks the execute row. It does not happen always and everytime it is the first upload when it happens.
By execute row, I mean the permissions box in gFTP.

James C. Interesting. It works for me. Need to investigate the script.
If you in console ping www.smokey01.com, do you get response ?
The script pings that site and if it does not get response, it gives that error message you got.

Would this be useful to put in the ISO

James C. So...something blocks you to ping. Interesting. Do you know why. Can you ping succesfully any site at all ?
Anyway....in /usr/bin/dpup-update script, remove these lines:

Uninstalled the pet (again) and rebooted.Still unable to ping www.smokey01.com.Or www.google.com.But I'm connected to the forum so....
pemasu, you are Scandinavian with English as a second language and is a common occurrence to sound "harsh" in English. don't sweat it.pemasu wrote:I have got feedback that my post about not building PAE kernel puplets has sounded like personal attack.
Has to do with how our crazy english language uses prepositions and grammatical particles for words to help denote grammatical categories such as mood. It is easier to tell what the speaker means when spoken as opposed to when written.
"That is, it is the use of verbal inflections that allow speakers to express their attitude toward what they are saying for example, whether it is intended as a statement of fact, of desire, of command, etc."

Reinstalled Updater pet.Removed requested lines from/usr/bin/dpup-update. Successfully downloaded and installed update.pemasu wrote:James C. So...something blocks you to ping. Interesting. Do you know why. Can you ping succesfully any site at all ?

That took care of it.
pemasu I have just downloaded the latest Filezilla 3.5.
It seems to works ok as I uploaded it to my site using itself.
http://www.smokey01.com/menu look in internet.
I will repackage it to a .PET tonight but it works fine if extracted to /
Let me know if this works better for you.

I have this issue also and not only for the Installed Updater pet.James C wrote:Installed Updater pet, launched from menu and got a yellow dialog box about lack of internet connection and error message. However, never actually lost the internet connection.
Unable to locate a /root/Dpup Exprimo Updater.log.
I just got it for Idrivepanel, but other applications end the same way.
Time savers:
Find packages in a snap and install using Puppy Package Manager (Menu).

Review of version 3
Idrivepanel could be useful but I had the problem with
Enlightenment interface that others have seen,
Note to pemasu:
Is it possible to have a startup script to run
/usr/sbin/set_hwclock_type
For those of us that run a linux only machine
we must select 'software to match machine' option
otherwise my clock is 4 hours off.
Shinobar solved this problem with his firstrun application
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 99&t=58312
Is it possible for you to adapt his work to Exprimo?

Zathura is 800 pixels wide. Would it make sense to
have a wider window to see more of page?
The method I used to test zathura was to open this
complicated PDF
http://www.reclam.de/trck/data/media/re ... 1_0108.pdf
Only a good program can handle this beast properly
.
You can compile zathura to open 1024 pixel wide
by changing a line in /zathura-0.0.8.4/config.def.h
before compiling.

suggestions for exprimo
Radky's Pupshutdown can be easily set up to launch applications
when clicking the buttons 'Manage task' and 'Backup files'
_____________________________________________
It would be nice if you set up Favorites
in Enlightenment. Just the commonly used apps. like Geany

Whenever there is a panel at the top of the screen, I find
that there is confusion when I move my mouse to the top
of the screen to move a window. Panels are best at the bottom
of the screen. Apple Mac OS X is a good example of this.

There is an old version of screenshot browser in exprimo.
I have improved this app. I'd appreciate if you put this in.

Hi pemasu,DaveS wrote:Oh how can this be? Downloaded x3 and cant get an internet connection again! Not with SNS, Network Wizard or Frizbee. Broadcom wifi... no big surprise!
I have the same problem, I have Dell D620 with BCM4312 internal wifi. I have frugal install and am not able to access my wifi.
I downloaded the latest 5.X.3 last night and have not been able to get network access. I have only tried frisbee.
hi Terry, i have BCM4313 which is the wl.ko driver and connected without issue using frisbee. This list shows the 4312 also as wl.ko driver. it can be confirmed withTerry H wrote:Hi pemasu,DaveS wrote:Oh how can this be? Downloaded x3 and cant get an internet connection again!
