GUI for Zathura PDF viewer

#1 Post by don570 »

Edit: version 1.1 has some important features.
1) A central location to store your PDF files
2) Copy to PDF Folder to help in storing your PDF's.

Edit: version 1.2 has some important features.
1) Help window will remain open
2) List of 'Recently Opened' PDF files for quick opening.

I quickly made a GUI pet for Zathura PDF viewer

I tested it on Fluppy and Lucid 525 Lucid 511(Shinobar)
and Wary but I can't be sure that it runs on all Puppies.
I included a right click option for PDF files
to make it a 'full' package.

Click on the Help icon for the shortcuts.
The most important key shortcuts are 's' and 'a'
for zooming. F5 for full screen viewing ^q to quit.
If F5 is used by some other program such as 'Sven'
then there is a configuration file located
/root/.config/zathura/zathurarc

The width and height of the window can be easily changed
by changing lines in the configuration file.

Thanks to Iguleder for finding this app.
Picture is in next post.
I localised it using Zigbert's method and made a French locals.
I intend to improve the localization

Report on this thread if you can't get it to launch a PDF file.
Make sure you tell me your Puppies name!!

Here's a picture of it. It's just a simple dialog to open
PDF files.

Here's a picture of the right click option at work...

new version 1.1 Zathura PDF viewer

#3 Post by don570 »

New version 1.1 has created a central place to store
your PDF's. Use the application to open the PDF Folder

The most import key shortcuts are listed
by just clicking.

It should work on most Puppies but there are no guarantees.

I worked on French translations with the help
of the French Forum guys. Thanks!

new version 1.2

I polished this version so that it is
working nicely.

The 'Keyboard Shortcuts' window remains open if you wish.

There is now a list of recently opened PDF's
to quickly choose among.

I've made changes and corrections in this version.

The PDF can now have spaces in the filename
(including the folder name) see screenshot.

I also added warning messages in case the 'Open PDF'
button is clicked accidently by user.

People probably thought that the button
would open a folder.

I re-wrote app to support gettext

Note that there is two versions, 32bit and 64 bit. Choose the version
that corresponds to your Puppy. The 64 bit supports April64.

Translated to Portuguese Spanish French German Italien

Working flawlessly on April64! This is precisely the package I needed. Thank you very much :)
Any plans to bring it up to date on zathura-0.3.2? I really want the post-0.2.7 SyncTeX support, and the djvu and ps plugins besides. If not I'll give it a shot eventually; though I'll probably make a mess of it, noob that I am.

It's very easy to compile for the next higher version. It just needs
pcre dependency. If I have time I will look into it.

FIXED: I left out the foreign languages out of the 64bit version

Upgraded : I eliminated any folders on the recent list.
Also a right click can add a file to recent list.
