great work :!:
We need mirrors, as Dotpups.de is almost full.
The Hacao-project uses 640 MB, we must limit that to max. 500 MB, so older files should be moved to mirrors.
I wrote Hacao a PM about it.

A localization model

#4 Post by raffy »

Maybe Hacao can apply for hosting in OLPC? It will be a useful localization example for a mini-Linux-distro. Feel free to link your localization how-to here.

Whatever they decide, the point is made: Puppy is up front blazing the path for OS in low-cost PCs like OLPC.

Another alternative is for Hacao to apply with sourceforge.net, describing the project as localization initiative for tiny Linux distros (Puppy Linux being the first distro chosen).

Congratulations, Hacao!

Hacao,

Have you changed the ROX-Filer to ROX-Filer 220(using a Dotpup)?

I found it difficult to show the Chinese Character on Desktop Icon, but OK in Menu.

If I install ROX-Filer 220,everything is OK.

I think there is some setting in the ROX-Filer about the Charset and Font.Do you know something about it?

If I can do some setting in ROX-Filer in Puppy2.0 to show Chinese Character,I don't need to install ROX-FIler 220.

Thanks.

Hi !

1. Download & Install PupRox241.pup in "Install" on desktop.

2. Using Cyberbit.ttf font (Unicode Chinese)

3. Install SCIM for typing Chinese

4. Copy Chinese local: in /usr/share/local (you can get it from Mandrake, Ubuntu, or ...),.... edit /etc/profile for support Chinese ,... LANG=<Chinese?>.....

5. Tranlate to Chinese

6. Remaster Hacao to Chinese Puppy

Is it easy ?

Good luck ! :D

Thanks.

I missed the first step.

So I have to install a ROX Dotpup.No matter 220 or 241.

It's an issue of ROX.AND It's Imperative.

But why Puppy2.0 doesn't contain this?

Does Puppy want to support UTF-8 itself(Not by using additional Dotpup)?
