Not that I know of.
Why do you ask?
Because that is what happens due to a script in Startup folder :)

The current one (11.00) has a nasty bug, in that is prints out everything twice.

Oh, you mean ffmpeg. Yes. It has been 3 months. There was kind of a fortuitous confluence of events. Micko built the new ffmpeg at the very same time I built the new gnome-mplayer--great minds run in the same ruts, as they say ;-)

Then to get gnome-mplayer to cooperate with ffmpeg, I changed the libc libraries from the i386 of Lucid previously to the i686 version of the same library. That is the libc is still from Lucid 10.04, but Lucid Lynx contained two versions. I had thought the OS would choose between them, but evidently it was more mechanical.
It would seem essential to compile from the same libc for any given distro.

The script refreshes the menu in case of openbox as WM.
Indeed strange. :?:

BUGS reporting

Should bugs be reported here or will there be a specific thread in the bugs section?

"updates Firewallstate to leave program icon off on reboot when turned off "
No, This means that if you choose to turn the icon off--that is, remove it from the task bar--then it does not reappear on the next boot.

I meant, I think it would be very nice to have an EZ-Woof with for every release, or at least just those files plus the Woof modifications. Just for final releases.

This could make it much easier for people to develop puplets.

So, an EZ-Woof for 5.0, 5.0.1, 5.1.1, 5.2, 5.2.5, etc? That would be doable, after 5.2.6.

There is actaully af ull Woof for 5.1.1....uh, somewher4e in the forums. That is, the DISTRO_PKGS_SPECS-ubuntu-lucid file for 5.1.1, and the custom packages used are available online.

What a morning, but here is what I am seeing.

Gnome-mplayer is the default media player for Lucid 5.2.5 (and 5.2.6) because it is the only player I have tested that plays every test file in my Mediatest folder. VLC misses one, UMplayer and Smplayer (which look like the same thing to me) both miss two I think, I haven't tried XBMC. Some of the others use mplayer also, but they still don't play wall the files. That is the case with *all* of the ffmpeg options considered (i386, i686, 0.8).

http://diddywahdiddy.net/Puppy500/mediatest.tar.gz

Current plan for luci-261 -> Use i686 ffmpeg libraries and mplayer from Medibuntu. This should yield increased performance over 5.2.5 with the least possibility of problems. The increased quality might even be noticeable ;-)

However, it is still possible to use the 0.8 ffmpeg libraries possibly with an mplayer recompiled to use fontconfig or not (the reason is that SMPlayer crashes if mplayer is not compiled with fontconfig). This should further increase performance, but again, not necessarily noticeably. There is a possible disadvantage to Pmusic. We might prepare this as a Performance Option! Luci-260 is using this option and Gnome-mplayer plays all the test videos.

Luci-260

I wanted to see just how good Luci-260 would hold up to running just live-cd.
Well through the test with playing a few games of cards, surfing the net and watching internet TV. Everything went well except the sound fell after about 6 hours of watching on line TV straight. Reboot of Firefox 3.6.18 went very well with sound working again.

You were probably watching the online TV in Firefox? Maybe Lobster who has been having trouble with streaming TV should try the older Firefox.

Clever testing. Thanks.

Playdayz.

I got the same results in Polarpup which uses Smplayer and Umplayer compiled in Polarpup using Qt4 libs inbuild.
Gnome-mplayer compiled in Polarpup plays all your test files, expect of course swf file.
Smplayer missed 2 and Umplayer one file.
Thank you of these test files.

Smokey01. The flashplayer behavior has changed. If you use older flashplayer like preinstalled one in Lucid 5.2, there is no problem.
The solution. Copy the libflashplayer from 5.2 or download the same version from puppy repos. There was a lot reports about that changed behavior, /tmp was not anymore the download location. I thind flashvideos are now downloaded under .default folder somewhere. I dont remember now what version was the first changed one.

So the problem has been caused by progress...or evolution....

At least flasplayer 10.2 does not store anymore to /tmp folder the videos.

Above is one of the many related articles about the changed behavior.

While running a flash video I issues find / |grep FlashXX
I didn't get any hit.
So maybe the naming format has changed as well.

From that article:
[quote]If you navigate to your /proc folder, you will see a bunch of folders all named numerically, including a folder which matches the number in the second field. Now navigate to this folder, then its subfolder “fd

Beem. Read above article and follow up posts also.
To find the flashvideo descriptor, run this in console:

Code: Select all

stat -c %N /proc/*/fd/* 2>&1|awk -F[\`\'] '/Flash/{print$2}'
To use that knowledge, there is one way described in that above article.
