Puppy2 wvdial unable to login to sbcglobal.net -updated

#1 Post by webworm98 »

Anyway to fool sbc to login?

-> Sending: username at sbcglobal.net
username at sbcglobal.net
Name, password pair incorrect
Please Sign-on:
Login failed, reason = (this has a buch of numbers. I didn't post this)
Connection closed by foreign host.
Returning not ok!!

I am still working on what the problem is. It has to do with att.net
Sbc is now AT&T.

This is from a google group posting.
look for (on:) from the sign-on: instead of the default (in:). I added on:
".$NAME." to the chat part of the script. which
was on the AT&T WURD site.

$command="/usr/sbin/pppd name \"".$NAME."\"".
" -d connect \'/usr/sbin/chat -t 45 -v ABORT BUSY
\"\" ATDT".$PHONE." CONNECT \"\" on: ".$NAME."\' ".$MODEM.

^ ^
" 57600 noipdefault modem defaultroute crtscts";
My modem is a speed 33.6
I don't understand how to do this and what script to use? (The domain name is still sbcglobal.net)

Another person also suggested setting asyncmap to 0x000a0000

I am newbie to linux. I don't know how to do some any of this stuff.

Thank you for your help. If I do find the fix, I will post back.

There is no fix. However, I found a workaround using GK dial.
For Now it works. You need to use MS-CHAP not PAP or CHAT.
Tell me they don't block it. Why do they use Microsoft chap then?

It is slower.
