Yet another wary puplet v0.2
Finally done!
After some days fixing errors (most of them "no version information avaiable") and playing (FAILING HARD) with some "current" libs and apps i'm glad to announce the secon version of frankenpup, with the slackware 13.37 kernel builded with the packed gcc (compiling/installing modules should be easier) new icons and of course a new wallpaper.
Nothing much to say, the next realease will be in about 4 weeks.
Also i will keep this kernel for a while
Ok now some "technical" stuffs.
Upgrades:
alsa-lib-1.0.24.1
alsa-oss-1.0.17
alsa-utils-1.0.24.2
cairo-1.10.2
fontconfig-2.8.0
libSM-1.2.0
libXau-1.0.6-i486-1.txz
libXcomposite-0.4.3
libXcursor-1.1.11
libXdamage-1.1.3
libXdmcp-1.1.0
libXevie-1.0.3
libXext-1.2.0
libXfixes-5.0
libXfont-1.4.3
libXfontcache-1.0.5
libXft-2.2.0
libXi-1.4.2
libXinerama-1.1.1
libXmu-1.1.0
libXp-1.0.1
libXpm-3.5.9
libXrandr-1.3.1
libXrender-0.9.6
libXres-1.0.5
libXt-1.1.1
libXtst-1.2.0
libXv-1.0.6
libXvMC-1.0.6
lm_sensors-3.1.2
pango-1.28.4
polkit-0.101
python-2.6.6 (I REALLY HATE TO INCLUDE THIS BUT IS NEEDED FOR SOME FUNCTIONS)
texinfo-4.13a
fixed some problems with firefox and video playback, but now the xorgwizard looks weird (REALLY), will try to fix that but is just a "look" issue, nothing functional, if some app complains about a lib let me know.

Well my ideal OS is something like:
as a developer:
>it must follow the KISS principle.
>fast and easy to build, upgrade, rebuild and improve.
as an user:
>easy learning curve.
>must give tools to solve problems.
>fast & solid.
>control over package installation/update/removal.
In other word the main features of my 2 favourite distros: Slackware and Puppy Linux, as i stated in my blog puppy is not just good it is GOOD, but it can evolve into something way better and in my personal opinion Slackware is what it needs to become somehing awesome.

Haha! (or is it Jaja )
Probably the biggest thing out of Chile atm (apart from volcano ash )
Seriously, I am very happy to see your continuation of Frankenpup with Slackware flavour. Perhaps you can get some inspiration from the spup I'm working on and vice versa. .
Downloading now.. more later

Hello 01micko, nice to see another genius around here. (if you know what i mean) /narcissism
From Chile not only ashes, also a little bit of HELL.
And about frankenpup: don't worry it was created as a puppy/slackware build and it will die like that i have no reason to use another distro as source of packages.
By the way i will upload another version in like 4(or 5) days with a new kernel (2.6.35.7) and some other minor libs upgrades, still testing and re-compiling the slackware kernel to fit what i like/need (oh! the HUGE kernel!) will keep you informed on that, also i'm almost all day all days on #puppylinux.
Well i think that's all.
Samedog out.

I can not add any packages from the PPM are any that I have download. Can you tell me how to resolve this problem?
Oh, i forgot to remove the PPM... I have disabled it because it has version incompatible software and libs and it WILL break the system, use a slackware 13.37 repo instead (you can even use slackware 13.1 repos for software, not libs) i suggest you repository.slacky.eu/slackware-13.37/ or repository.slacky.eu/slackware-13.1/ to install just download the package and click on it. Also you can always compile from source since frankenpup comes with gcc.l2ulinux wrote:I can not add any packages from the PPM are any that I have download. Oh, and thaks for downloaing it ; )

Thank you for the quick reply back. It works great after you play around with it a little and learn about it. You can also use http://packages.slackverse.org/ to get packages.
Thanks for the great work.

FRANKENPUP : i try it to-night.
There is no so much mailing about Frankenpup.
I will give you my opinion.
