It wasnt so easy. I had broken packages in woof. I have closed terminal too early and some packages when dir2pet wasnt completed yet. So I made 2 builds and wondered why not all apps work. Lol. Well, that lead to broken packages new dir2pet creating and new building....

I added some Finnish winter landscape pics more. Aurora Borealis and some "tykky" snow winter pics. I just love them. Lol.

But now the Ice Puppy-015 has been uploaded. 2.6.38-4 kernel. 486 optimization and no highmem-pae but as much drivers added as in previous kernels.

Please, wake Beem up so that he can test this with his troublesome Medion box.

And because I know Jim3630 asks this next, I included Broadcom hybrid wl pet also, it is in the Ice Puppy-015 folder. Ndiswapper is there also. Acpi_call module pet also even though I am the only one who has ever needed it, lol.

Lol. There seems to have happened autodeleting. I see it in my Filezilla remote ftp folder, but when I refresh it, it has disappeared. I have mistakenly deleted it when shuffling between my folders and remote ftp site folders.

It is reuploading now. Well, the more mysterous things happens every day.

Ice Puppy-015 has been reuploaded and this time it is there.......I think.

And have you noticed the nice setup and icons Smokey01 has organized to his ftp folders. Big hand for Smokey01 !!!!

Anything with a "Finnish Winter during a LunarEclipse"? (ha-ha).

Everytime I use ICE-SNOW, I find some additionally useful item/icon/menu entry that was not noticed before. WOW! What thoughtful innovation you provide for us.

In any event, Thanks.
Thanks Pemasu

Just a quick comparison between Ice Puppy 014 (PAE) and Ice puppy 015 (non PAE).....same hardware, same pfix=ram, etc.

Ice Puppy 014

Fri 10 Jun 2011 Operating System: Ice Puppy-014 Linux 2.6.38
Processor : 4x AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 620 Processor
Memory : 3884MB (210MB used)

Ice Puppy 015

Wed 15 Jun 2011 Operating System: Ice Puppy-015 Linux 2.6.38
Processor : 4x AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 620 Processor
Memory : 2854MB (193MB used)

Admittedly the increased ram usage of the PAE kernel isn't noticeable with 4 gb or more of ram but it is on anything less than about 1 Gb. My older hardware thanks you for 015. Smile

As said in the polarpuppy, being away from my 'beloved' Medion, I only can test on it when back. Cool

As well in Lucid, all the cold puppy's and I think also in spup, there is stil a fundamental problem. Probably in woof.

When one opens a ROX window quite often the window is behind the system tray causing corrupted screen when scrolling. I remember this has been raised in the Lucid thread already.
Still nobody (well I suppose Barry) has reacted on this.
It is annoying as when using ROX one never knows how big a next window in ROX can be.
Maybe only people with small screens like me (14") will see this issue.

There is another one in snowpuppy 020 and icepuppy 015.
When a file is opened in geany, the frame is very high and I have to re-size it in order to have it fully on the desktop minus the tray.
I don't think I saw this in Lucid nor spup.

Beem. I havent read about that Rox problem. I keep my eyes open.
About Geany. I believe part of the problem is your screen size.
I have newer geany than in Lucid Puppies. I think my used version was compiled by Aragon and it has extra plugins included.
You can test and swap the Geany binary from Lucid Puppy. I would be interested to hear if it fixes your problem.

Or you can use this Geany from Lucid 525.
