Loving Puppy Subject description: Forum improved |
|
As we all know, everyone loves Puppy.
Some so much, they find innovative ways to express this.
Trolling. Love bombing the forum.
Helping out on IRC under assumed names.
Starting new initiatives.
. . . and that is just me.
This forum is under such an expression.
If you notice it and can be bothered. Please join in
By helping out new members who are
operating as suck puppets (I think that is the correct term)
This is what I understand of the latest fun:
Register or post as a guest and then some
The idea is to post under several new names
pretending to ask a 'beginners' question
and then answer ones own post as another 'new member'
No doubt the tactic will change
I expect further outbursts of emotions any moment . . .
Some really are in samsara [suffering mode]
Of course, you are Puppys and may have other solutions . . .
[yawning is good]
Flash is on it
John Murga has been notified (may have gone fishing)
and I am going to have a cup of tea
Love Linux
Be a Puppy

Recent troll activity has been spotted on the forum
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=530567#530567
Now DFTT is good advice but part of the problem is
they are so needy
Attention is the motivation for their club
[expect to see some bashing on their own head every time]
If you see a new troll on the forum be kind
they were once human and can be again . . .

Quote: | Not the FBI but.....
What about new user was allowed
1st day 1 post
2nd day 2 posts

Just a thought |

I was about to suggest the same thing - so obviously I think it is a sensible idea. If that doesn't work then temporary IP blocking may be necessary.

OK
John is on it
Basically (as details emerge) a new user was inadvertently
removed by Flash as he was doing his forum patrolling
This new user took exception to this
and rejoined on a regular basis under many names . . .
and now back to the fun stuff . . .
New moderators? Any suggestions?
Don't be shy. If I can do it (nearly)
a fish could do it . . .
One of my moderator recommendations is Nooby
(moderation through confusion)
who for no good reason is posting less
and I for one would like to hear more from him
Only hear the positive Nooby.
Post more again . . .
I also think Bugman (or one of his cats)
should be moderator of the security section . . .

I have asked twice or three times if I could help with removing spam to an invisible area that only Mods and Admins can see and that would make the board less clogged up with the spam while Flash and other mods are sleeping or with the family or do other things in life.
But that was before I became aware through Personal Message from a reputed and respected contributer on this forum I got aware of that I am too annoying due to too low quality and too often posting.
I trust this PM:er to get it right. I have too low quality when I try to help others so I have stopped doing it apart from a few lapses when none else cared. I have cut other postings too and change habit as much as I have capacity to without creating a password that is random and thus lock myself out of the forum. Drastic but is a simple way to do really cut down.
Lobster, that was friendly of you but seeing what Puppyite and Jonyo and their supporters have done lately I guess me is too "sensitive" to deal with such destructive to Puppy personalities. So maybe it is better me is not active here at all to not get more attention from negative forces.

Good news Ttuuxxx
Beem is a good choice . . .
I think he understands French too?
and MU knows German and French as well as English.
Obviously now as part of the inner kernel of the kennel
you will have to swear
to protect our spammers, noobs, trolls
and stray cubs . . . and save the cyber-verse
Don't let the power go to your head
@Noob - well I will continue to try to get you
a job on spam patrol - otherwise carry on testing, posting
and ignoring senior posters (like me) What do we know?

Better learn ABOUT the forums before you start administrating them.
Click on the word "Administrator" in orange at the bottom of the home page.

I thought it was a very young polar bear.
In the wild they are probably only allowed out by Mum at this sort of size
(This one, 'Flocke', has her first tooth)
In the wild she will grow into a ferocious seal slayer.
