ThinkPad + Puppy (TrackPoint and such)

What works, and doesn't, for you. Be specific, and please include Puppy version.

ThinkPad + Puppy (TrackPoint and such)

#1 Post by nikuki »

I am currently running Puppy 2.0 from CD on my ThinkPad R31.

Everything seems to be working great, I just have a couple of issues with the TrackPoint and the buttons specific to my laptop.

The TrackPoint itself works great, I just wish that I could speed it up. It seems to move pretty slowly. Its useable, but I really like a fast mouse.

I did not expect any of the ThinkPad buttons to work, and they don't. The ones that I miss the most are (most important first)

the scroll button
the back and forward buttons (these can also be found on many IBM keyboards)
the volume buttons

I dunno if these problems are currently being worked on or whatever, but I thought I would at least bring them to light here.

Thanks.

To make the mouse more speedy:
Menu > Control Panel > Gxset X Settings > Mouse
Increase the acceleration value.

For all that is Thinkpad and Linux:

(Nice laptop, by the way.)

A little bit of link digging finds the info on your buttons:

Follow the instructions (they are towards the bottom), and good luck. We'll help you out if you run into trouble.
